    Man City v Fulham
how did var get it wrong- wrong call - clearly the goalkeeper was distracted about the City player’dancing/jumping’ over the ball

I am in the camp that VAR got that one wrong.  The other player was in the line of play, close enough to have touched the ball if he wanted to even if not within a mm variance of a straight line.

How the hell does Jordan Henderson get in the England squad and James Ward Prowse doesn't.  I think Sterling should be in too.
As I have said before many times, an international football team manager must know how he wants ‘his’ team to play and he then selects the players who will slot in and play as he wants the team to play. A club team manager decides on ‘his’ teams tactics depending on the availability of fit players, the opposition and the upcoming games.

That is why some very inform players are ignored by the national team manager who favours a number of dependable but less flashy players in the team.

Wow - what a game - Drama - 2 close calls inc a potential Man U winner and only a tad in it - Ref probably got the right call on the penalty review and credit to him - But I bet Arsenal fans think it was twice as nice when it was scored by Rice

    Enjoyed the game

  • Don't you just love being a football fan. What a match. Thought we'd lost it when Garnacho scored but it was chalked off and we nicked 2 goals at the end.

This is what happens when you play 4 actual defenders at the back, we win! So Partey missing today was a blessing as it meant he didn't have to play RB. Havertz shouldn't be in the team should, what is his role? He's a more attacking player but is taking up someone's place such as Vieira or Jorginho, both should have started today ahead of him.

Havertz is a passenger in the team.  He slows everything down going forward.  He doesn’t make runs, he doesn’t carry the ball, he just pass it backwards, usually from the person who just passed him the ball from the back.

  • I don't like this thing where players aren't played in their correct positions. We saw with Xhaka when we tried to use him as a defensive midfielder it didn't work, only last season did we see the best of him when he was actually used in his best position which is a bit further forward.

It's a bizarre signing - I wouldn't have really said he was particularly successful at Chelsea either and thought they did very well to move him on at such a fee.

I just cannot see why he is in the Arsenal Squad, let alone the team.

Man U still sh*te. We buy cr*p players like Martial then stick with them for years and years. Years ago we'd have been in for Kane, Bellingham, Rice, now it's just a micky mouse club with mediocre ambition. Get those effin Glazers out and hopefully we can start again ...

Big chat on Sky yesterday about the Glazers - No news, as you know, regarding a potential buy out - Are they just going through the motions - What are they trying to achieve by staying and saying nothing - Bids in for around 5 billion, yet Man U effectively owes them only £250 mill of their own funds - So what is going on - Ground news improvement, as does training ground, so when/who is going to finance this -Do they think they'll get more in a year or two, for some reason

    Far more questions than answers

See Sancho having a dig that he is being made a scapegoat - "I will not allow people saying things that is completely untrue, I have conducted myself very well in training this week.

"I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won't go into, I've been a scapegoat for a long time which isn't fair!"

Maybe it is because your crap Jadon, not good enough for the Man U 1st team and certainly seriously over priced at 70 odd million - Have you thought about that

The most exciting thing is that, in theory, the best is yet to come. We've signed some REAL quality (on paper) this window. If we can get them bedded into the squad - our style of play could (and will, I Think) change drastically for the better, especially against lower half teams/at home.

It's difficult. If someone just isn't good enough it also feels unfair to dig them out publicly. It's not really his fault how much Man Utd decided to pay for him either. Sometimes stuff is going on that is not visible to the public and like with Dele Ali, there can be more than meets the eye.

Sell the kid and let him continue his career at a club that is more at his level.

With the greatest of respect, for 1/2 the PL clubs, that is the battle - To be the top of the rest - You have the 6/7 Elite clubs - Then Brighton, Brentford and should be West Ham as part of the top 10 - The rest and you have that relegation zone battle - So 9 matches x 2 for home/away so 18 matches against the competition - So 2 points a game should be min - Then add the odd point from other games - Simple theory - As you know a win v Chelsea is a big bonus, both points acquired and confidence - Sod law then says you'll loose to Wolves at home

Oh of course - I'm not saying we're all of a sudden elite. But for teams that aren't in that elite, we should be "giving it a go" and not parking the bus/low block like we've basically done for 7 months and relying on the counter attack. Against the Burnleys, Luton's etc at home, we should be trying to go at them now we have the personnel to do so.

Agree - please stay up to annoy the Rams fans if nothing else- Ensure Luton get more than 11 points - Brighton will now be seen as the model to adopt for the non elite clubs , and to a degree Brentford- But it will take 2/3 more years of work to get there - How long Brighton and Brentford can maintain such a healthy status will remain to be seen - For now both have had success on the pitch and with their financial position , especially buy low and unknown - Then sell high

I was very nervous about staying up last season. I've seen no reason so far this season to expect that we won't comfortably stay up. We are a couple of bad refereeing decisions and wonder goals from 12 points, which is a far cry from where we were at this time last season, essentially fighting for our lives.

Personally I don't blame Sancho for anything. Yes, he has 'failed' so far at the club, but I have a lists of Man U failures over the years, sometimes for whatever reason things just don't work out. The problem at Man U isn't Sancho (directly), but it is recruitment generally.

The top 10 transfer fees ever paid in the Prems history - 4 of them were Man U players: Pogba, Maguire, Lukaku and more recently Antony. Not exactly a roll call of success. And outside of that, the Sanchez debacle comes to mind.

Man U right now remind me of the Fowler/McManaman era of Liverpool. That team looked pretty good and had some good players but were never going to be a league winning team.

I know where you are coming from, but at least Fowler and McManaman came thru' the back door as junior kids - Not a high transfer in thru' the front door

You are right about your comments ref Sancho and to be fair T Hag was not at the realms when the deal was done

Not sure if there is any good data, but will be interesting to see how much more 'wastage' there is in the PL, with its new riches, compared to pre PL - Plus how much more wastage there is amongst the elite v the rest - On that topic, Leeds purchased 6/7 players at the start of the previous PL season - 6/7 have now gone out on loan with I think only 1 confirmed sale - The same riff riff that helped to send us down, have jumped ship, with release clauses within their contracts - So no shortage of wastage amongst the relegation clan either

I'm sure there are many other good examples, but makes me smile now when you see that Revie built that great late 60's/early 70's side on a budget - Most where kids when they arrived with mainly transfer fees spent on Giles and Clarke - And how many played 500/600/700 games for the club - How many players now make 100/200 or even 300 appearances at their current club

He's been on the bench for the last few games, just hasn't come on as Arteta favours Vieira. To be fair he's done well when he's come on, great pass for Jesus yesterday and 2 key contributions vs Fulham.

But ESR should get a go in that no.8 role, Havertz belongs further up the attacking line but I don't think is better than Martinelli or Saka.
