Looks like Leeds are adapting the Gilbert O'Sullivan approach - A loan again, naturally

Jack Harrison now gone to Everton - So that is now 6/7 of last years 1st team now on loan and most of those have only been at the club 1 season - What is it with the previous owner + DOF that adopted such crap 'get out' clauses - Sign and play for us or don't bother coming at all should be the order of the day - 1/2 the reason we are relegated is because of the players performance on the pitch and now they want out afterwards

I understand a loan for a junior player to develop outside your squad and give them game time  elsewhere - But not 6/7 senior first team players - Just clear off and don't bother coming back

Also, one good season in the Prem and you're worth £115m now?

I just can't understand that valuation.

Keep going back to Maddison at £40m.  Proven PL and international player with plenty of goals and assists (2 already this season) to his name.

So, to my mind, Caicedo is perhaps worth £25m for his potential.  £115m is madness.
Well done to Brighton - I think they have played the game very well, ever since Arsenal came sniffing!!

On the other hand, if they go away and do well it's potentially win win for the parent club - either their transfer fee will have increased, or they'll come back a better player if you do go up, and presumably you've not had to pay their wages either.

My team West Brom have done it with lazy git Karlan Grant as we would not have got a fraction of what we paid should we sell him now, but if he goes away to Cardiff and scores 20 goals then we have a chance of recouping more money and for no real effort on our part. And it stops him getting booed every week merely for getting up off the subs bench for a little warm up

Relieved to start the season off with a win but we were made to work hard for it. Saka's goal was sensational. Proving last season wasn't just a one-off. I don't like this inverted full-back thing though, Partey belongs in midfield with Rice and not as a right back who tucks in when we have the ball. He's not got the pace to deal with quick and tricky wingers (like for the Forest consolation goal with Elanga's run).

And we still need that proven goalscorer up front. Nketiah is off the mark already but I can't see him getting into the Haaland/Kane figures.

Also good to get Raya in to push Ramsdale cos he can't get a bit too comfortable knowing he's gonna play each week even if he makes errors and stuff.
We proper had you rattled in the last 20 mins which was pleasing to see (much improved on last season at the Emirates). Whilst both goals were superb, the deflection on the first mis-footed Turner (who was superb all game), which was unfortunate and you just don’t stop shots like one Saka produced; but MGW should have hoofed it clear about 5 seconds before Saka took possession. All if’s and buts, however, pleasing overall. Play like that against the Blunts on Friday and I think we’ll be ok.
Yes and I was thinking "here we go again, throwing away a 2-0 lead..." lol. Just had to be Turner plays his first game against us as well in the same week or two after leaving.

I don't think any of them will be welcome back - 2/3 initially said they wanted to stay then bailed out - Side before self is set in stone at LUFC - God knows what team we'll have to face you on Friday night - Around 5/6 injured as well, plus Gnonto + Sinisterra currently not allowed to train with the first team, as they want out, but can only be a sale now as we are up to our limit for on loan options

I wouldn't worry too much about Friday's match though to be honest. We were pretty poor on Saturday and very nearly threw away a 3-0 lead because our manager decided to take the makeshift striker off, leaving us playing a formation of 5-5-0, and despite having that many players back we still couldn't head a ball. So at least that buys you a bit of time as you'll have no problem stuffing us I'm sure - just kick the ball in the general area of the box with some of your players there and we'll let you through

Hopefully he didn't just level himself up because it's his old team - we'll see how he gets on protecting the Trent End in the 1st half on Friday night.

We've battered Wolves there. And OUTRAGEOUS how their player jumped into Onana like that...

I jest. That was a shocking watch. Absolutely awful.

Well, playing like utter turd and winning is better than playing like turd and losing i suppose.

But that's got to change, i think United lost almost every single 1v1 battle between player to player, lots of players look off the boil, Casemiro looks unfit (he was shattered from about 75th min), the only reason they won that game is Wolves can't hit a barn door.

United lost the ball 81 times and had the most shots conceded since 2005.  Wolves should have won.

The hole in the centre of our midfield was massive.   2 players playing like number 10’s and Casemiro being run at from
    all angles.

Not sure we have the players to pull off the ETH high press.  Far better midfields in the League, Newcastle, City, Arsenal, now Chelsea.

Tonight would have been another 6-1 or 7-0 against an in Form City or Liverpool.

Way off the pace tonight, should have been a penalty as well.

Well Man U did not show a slick togetherness last night - I was surprised at Wolves as so many pundits have them down for relegation - Lost a few key players but looked handy v Man U - Play like that against their relegation candidates and they should do okay

Casemiro was the only grafter in midfield last night - He was putting out fires in the centre of the park with little help

As for that penalty 'appeal' - Hard to believe VAR said no - For some reason keepers appear to be exempt from 'busting' thru' a crowd of players - If a defender did that then it would be a clear foul/penalty

The only key player to move on was Neves (which was always going to happen at some point), the others were bench warmers. This Wolves squad has been building for a couple of seasons as the transition from Nuno's counter attacking side continues. What we don't have is depth to cover inevitable injuries / suspensions (and a goal scorer! - but that will change as they grow in confidence). Brilliant performance last night from all of them. Pundits are just pundits at the end of the day. It's just a shame the VAR thing grabs the headlines, poor old Kaledicz though,  first game does his knee in and off for 12 months, comes back and is pretty much knocked out cold, what he must think of the English game after all that. Lovely bloke though, we all want him to come good and show what he can do.

Seriously what is the point in VAR if they STILL get decisions like the penalty wrong?

Not really a VAR issue. Ref should have blown for the foul, He knew doing so would have the place in uproar so he decided not too. Play to the whistle.

Nice that the officials have apologised !!!!!!!!!!!!! - So if Wolves get relegated by one point at the end of the season they will have had at least some apology sent their way !!!!!! - It is such an aspect of var that is so crap - They have time to look at it, many times, but still get it wrong

I wonder if there is any chart that shows if VAR benefits the elite clubs more than the lesser clubs - Be it penalties etc awarded in their favour, or overturned/not given in their favour as well

We pretty much know that's the case with this sort of thing, probably due to bigger stadiums and therefore a more intimidatory atmosphere.

  • When West Brom were in the premier we hardly ever got given penalties. That said, we were hardly ever in the opposition's box either

Wasn't there like a rule that no away team ever got awarded a penalty at Old Trafford in the Fergie years?  Seems like it's come back.

Good news for us Palace fans as Olise signs a new contract. So fuck you Chelsea.

Also, has legendary jazz fusion guitarist Al Di Meola been masquerading as a Premier League manager on the sly? I smell a rat.
