    @terada Where are you at now on the R9?
    Still undecided. I currently have the 2014 iced tea and 2017 cherry and am looking for a third. I have a superlight 7.96lb Dirty Lemon R9, a superlight 7.94 tobacco R9, and a medium 8.7lb Cherry R8 all on hold.

    I do really like cherry bursts, but it seems silly not to get another colour. That said the cherry on hold is wonderful sounding yet with a distinctly different voice to my current two. It would also save me a grand.

    Here’s a photo of the only R8 I decided to keep. Absolutely beautiful tone. Perfect balance of bass, mids and treble. It has great projection and easily heard in the mix as tonight’s band practise showed. Weighs 9lbs 1oz. Slightly slimmer 59 neck. The gloss finish is really smooth and makes the neck feel silky, not sticky. Nice!

    A handsome beast. Can see why you gravitated to the R9s as you clearly have an eye for a bit of flame.

    The grain is a lot bigger than the ones I've seen on USA series guitars. More noticeable up close, and on the neck too
