In the grand scheme of things it doesn’t matter, but it would have been nice if they included a strap and truss rod tool in the case.

(the other new Gibson I bought a few weeks ago were supplied with them)
Interesting - I thought Gibson had stopped supplying truss rod tools years ago...
actually yes, you're right, it was the second hand Schecter I bought a couple of weeks ago that had one in the case, the BFG did come with a strap though.

And speaking of which, as has been mentioned earlier, the difference between the pickup rings, neck angle etc on the R8 and BFG is huge (along with loads of other stuff obviously as they are no more than distant cousins really!)

They gave a Gibson-branded Cruztools multitool with my ES330. Actually quite a useful gizmo. Like the below (which I alreday had) but with a truss rod adjuster built in as well.

I’m very glad I remember to take it out of the case going through Heathrow so I could avoid almost getting arrested from sneaking weapons onto planes. Again....)

I do really like it but the poor wee thing was taken to my office this morning and has been relegated to hanging on the wall there until I decide if I am selling it or not

Big difference innit?  Takes a bit of getting used to

I don't think pickup adjustability was high on the list of priorities in that them there days

Well @Whitecat is winning, what a lovely looking guitar
True, I love mine but I’d swap it for @Whitecat ‘s in a heartbeat
Really? I think yours is one of the nicest I've seen. I'm not a lover of cherry finish usually but that one has just the right amount of blush. Beautiful looking guitar.
Thanks, I really like it too. Definitely one of the nicest on here, but there’s something about whitecat’s - maybe the lighting or photo but it’s just, wow.

    8lbs 6ozs... very well-balanced too.
    Beautiful. Stunning in fact.
Would you take £1500 cash for it?

How are the custom bucker pickups? Anyone considering a switch?

I've found them in the past to be very good, just sometimes they haven't matched a particular guitar very well or that the pickups were not well balanced between each other e.g. super hot neck and weak bridge.  It's a bit of a lottery as they can be a little random, I guess like the old PAFs used to be!

Mine are very good and really suit my guitar so I'm going to stick with them.

Maybe the bridge and only because I want to play high gain... even then maybe not.  As vintage style PAFs go the stock pickups are bloody perfect IMO, likely they've been voiced for these particular guitars

Mine are exceptionally well balanced, maybe I'm just lucky
