It seems pretty obvious to me why the few 2017 R9/R0’s that GuitarGuitar have left are still not sold, the tops don’t justify the price.
At the same price as an R8 they would no doubt be long gone.
GuitarGuitar only have 1 R9 and 2 R0s left from their pile of over 60. So even the munters and fatties are selling. Shows you the power of the Gibson brand doesn't it?
In fact, hardly any R7s in shops at all, never mind discounted ones. Seems odd
First in clean sound and the second with the boost of the Mercury.
am i missing something - cant seem to find an r9 anywhere for this price.
any help would be appreciated.
Been playing the VOS more and more

I'm guessing the '£1500 Dreamers' will be particularly unhappy at this...
I maintain that in the long run I can't see anyone loosing out on these.
Why such strong views on the prices of used R8s?
I'm assuming that you haven't read through all of the previous 135 pages of this thread.
There are those who say that the knockdown price on the ones that started this thread will cause second hand prices to drop, while others say that it won't have much effect, or that any effect is likely to be temporary. Both sides are rather entrenched in their opinions.
People can get quite rude about prices on this forum anyway. I remember advertising a PRS for sale in the classifieds a few years ago. Someone on here made me a lowball offer, and I said no, and he came back with an arrogant PM saying that was adamant that I'd never get more than £1000 for it. I sold it on consignment in Charlie Chandlers and got a bit over £1200 after commission - so better than £200 more than the maximum he said I would get.
That spirit of "I know better than you" persists on this forum. Pricing of second hand guitars is one of those that seems to bring it out. Always has done, and people don't like being told they are wrong - even when they are.
There are also a handful of people on the forum who are argumentative types, might even use the word troll. I can understand TTony getting fed up and wanting out.
nothing visible whatsoever
I have never experienced that with a rosewood board before?
I use Gerlitz Guitar Honey for that, which works very nicely.
Now does anyone have any idea why the same Dunlop Lemon Oil that I have always bought, and has made every single rosewood board noticeably darker almost straight away, made absolutely no difference to the board on my R8?
