I've been through a bunch of different delays and mod pedals lately and settled on these.
The DM-2W has seen of some more exotic delays. Just a nice simple delay that always sounds good.
Turns out I also prefer the supro trem to the Spaceman Delta ii, the harmonious monk and the revivaltrem.
Tnx. I made several changes the last 3 years.
I went from:
to:
And for now I've settled with these:
HBE Lorba Fuzz, based on the Bosstone. Dunno, never heard a bosstone. But it is really nice with good clean up. I've set it medium gain.
Lovepedal COT red. It is Marshall based I think. Single knob that adjusts bias. Gives you more gain, when turned clockwise.
I've set it pretty low gain.
Cusack tap a whirl v1. Crazy tremolo. Many wave patterns and wave forms. I just use one setting though that sounds nice to me.
Tubesteader Lightkeeper. Pretty clean tube preamp. Somehow it doesn't work with 12V with me, allthough it says it needs 12V. I run it at 9V. Set to give some more sparkle. Pretty punchy cleans as well. And works like a charm with all the drives/fuzzes I've had this far. It's always on. Don't really use the second footswitch a lot (you can assign boost and/or mid shift), because the HBE and Lovepedal react really well to the volume knob.
3Degrees Audio Bygones. Wonderfull piece of kit. Can do Demedash like things and a lot more. Add some hiss, crackle, pops, warble, and lots of other stuff. You can save settings as well. Used mono in/stereo out and is always on.
Neunaber Iconoclast. Very easy to use speaker sim. Used in stereo. I think you can even use different settings for each stereo channel, but didn't dive into the software yet.
Mission Engineering 529 USB power supply. I have most of the pedals daisychained to the 500mA out. Iconoclast is on the 150mA out. Maybe I'm underpowering a bit, but I didn't encounter any problems so far. And otherwise I just add some more crackle and hiss with the bygones
Swissten powerbank. Very powerfull.
I use this board in a very simple way, but if you like you can get into fancier stuff as well with the Bygones and Tap a whirl. The board itself is made of plastic roof molding/siding.
It's supposed to kind of replicate what I have on my main board, but using smaller (and cheaper) Chinese clone pedals, for the most part.
The Reecho is said to be a clone of a Boss DD-3. It isn't. They're both white with blue writing. They're both digital delays. That's a s far as it goes!
The Ana Echo is supposed to be a clone of an Ibanez analogue delay. It may well be, I have no idea, but it is nice. The Mooer Ninety Orange is a pretty good clone of an MXR Phase 90, the Dark Mouse is a pretty good copy of a Rat II and the Mosky Dyna is pretty close to the MXR Dyna Comp, albeit with fewer controls.
The Green mile is said to be a clone of a Tubescreamer, either a TS9 or a TS808 depending on which mode the switch is in. Again, I can't vouch for that, but it is a really nide sounding pedal.
Keeley Comp > Keeley-modded TS-808 > Xotic EP Boost > Fulltone OCD V1.4 > Sinvertek N5 Anniversary >
Zoom MS-70CDR > Catalinbread Serrano Picoso Boost > Nux Duotime > TC Flashback
Powered by a Cioks DC-10
Gigrig Quartermaster QMX-6
How do you use the Gigrig? To make loops or just as remote bypass for each pedal?
Slot 1 is actually connected to both the Keeley TS-808 and Xotic EP Boost
I've deployed the Flip Flop Switch for Slots 2 & 3, the OCD and Sinvertek, as I like to go from a rhythm sound/low-med gain with the OCD to the full blown lead sound on the Sinvertek and so it's really just a pedal switcher with isolated.
The QMX really cleans up your board sound and it was very noticeable from the get-go and of course, the Cioks has isolated loops. It also saves on stomping on the pedal footswitches or knocking the settings on other pedals, which can be a bit of a stretch at a times or even in the case of the OCD, an unreliable switch prone to breaking (I think it's stupidly connected to the circuit board).
Looks like you have pedals in front of the amp and in the loop. How does that work with the quartermaster? Not seen these used in 4CM before?
Also, did the quartermaster reduce noise?
As you can probably tell I'm considering getting one....
For the record, this is for playing at home so the size and weight is not an issue
