I did have one thought last night. Especially for making modding threads with little conversation but lots of "wow" reactions.

Could we make the "discussions" section bump threads from all over for post reactions (albeit to a lesser ratio) in a similar way to comments?

Just redesign the Advanced Search page for use by a normalish human, with sensible defaults (sort by most recent, 'AND' not 'OR' for multiple words, etc).

Interesting idea, but it would make moderating the Classifieds an absolute nightmare because we can't remove reactions without significant effort (ie direct database changes), so everything would get over-bumped to hell.

Sadly, that's not going to happen - while it'd be great for many reasons, it's just not practical to maintain a list like that. And making it user-submitted would result in tag hell (different spellings of "Squier" being a good example) and require lots of cajoling and correction.

FWIW I wouldn't mind helping with a bit of list-setup-admin for tagging but you'd def need to include Other with a free text box either way. And you'd probably get loads of people still do it wrong (Gibson ticked for Epis and Fender for Squiers at the very least..) which adds to the classifieds admin burden.

^ this. As soon as you need to introduce a taxonomy you've started something that needs maintaining, and the functionality as non-trivial, given you need to create a way of entering and updating it.

It would be a poor use of limited/donated time
