So here’s the thing. I’ve just had surgery last week and am still recovering… I have not had any time to practice over Xmas as was staying with dad and my kit is in Bristol. So a) I may not have time to practice much before the jam and b) no extra songs with me on drums please.

Has venue been booked yet? If so what times is it booked for? Am planning logistics for dropping the mrs off in Bristol for the day.

That's a good point. @Brocco , @Neilybob , @roberty IIRC it couldn't be booked more than 30 days in advance of the date. We're in that window now.

Firebird looks like it’s only open 10-4 on a Saturday. Or Google might be wrong, the website does say you can have an 8 hour slot.

Okay Firebird is fine. It's £160 for the day and then an extra tenner for drums shells and another tenner if we want a bass amp. I'm assuming we have drum breakables. That would be £180 all in

When I booked Factory last time I was told it was only available to book one month in advance. On the month I called and they said it was 30 days. Then at 30 days I called again and they said it was 28 days. I got stroppy at that point and they made an exception. It's 28 days now so someone must have got in before then or called first thing

I've since discovered that the p rails pickup is very high output lol. I got a bass fuzz pedal and past 4 or 5 on the volume the pickup just obliterates it. Need to mod the pedal I think

Thanks, I’m probably only going to be doing basic chords if I’m singing. As usual I’ve taken on too many songs to get them too polished.

Die Laughing now has a full lineup after adding @Neilybob on bass. Assuming he hasn't stormed off in a huff, after I completely misread his post offering his services.

Hard To Handle has a full lineup

Fortunate Son has enough players to cover it. @bobblehat I've put you down on lead guitar, which is what you did last time so I assume you're OK with that. There's still a slot for 2nd guitar on that one.

Should we be retiring the following songs as they've been on there a while without any takers? I've flagged the original proposers for them

Yeah, I'd go with this. I'll bring mine along as back-up, or for Spinal Tap as @roberty suggests, but I suspect we'll mainly use the studio one.

Yep fine to ditch that choice of mine. I won’t have a lot of time to learn the others I’m doing I don’t know so well, and it’s one less for our recovering drummer!
