My Trading Feedback | You Bring The Band
Just because you're paranoid, don't mean they're not after youBet it’s sold by 10am
Love to see a bit of flame on a Les Paul and you have hit the jackpot with that one.
However...
I ordered two R9s and returned one. Although the maple top on it looked fabulous, the one I returned felt a bit rough around the edges, had a more boxy neck shape and didn't ring out well on the top strings. There's no way I would have considered keeping it, unlike the one I am keeping which is superior in every way.
As always, Gibsons vary a lot from guitar to guitar. I've found that more of the Custom Shop range these days can be good, more than days of old, but there are still some very average examples out there.
Its a sitar type ring. Apart from that the setup is fantastic so don’t really want to have to drive it all the way to my tech and pay out just for that if it’s something I can fix with the tools I have here
Could be the slot on the bridge saddle - try taking up the action a touch first and/or raise the tailpiece - Both just a touch first and see what happens
Unlikely to be the truss rod if the issue is only on the G string - If the truss rod needed a tweak I'd expect the same issue on all strings
if you have no thin needle file - clean the saddle slot with some wet/dry doubled over - feed through a couple of times to clean any debris - Could try a wound 4th string - maybe needs 2/3 runs to/fro
Many thanks
