I caved in and ordered one from GuitarGuitar, still a dirty lemon and a cherry burst available there

Expect about fifty guitars in the classifieds from me in due course!

Could realistically be my only chance to own one of these from new
Ah!, that was you. I swithered over buying the one you bought last night, but decided to sleep on it, looked today and it was gone. Today to compensate for my sadness I just bought the dirty lemon instead
    Haha well played :-)

What are we like!  We have spontaneously pumped £15k into the guitar economy (I think that's 6 of us so far?)

Is it wrong to consider buying a second one?

Would someone please have a word with me, or better still take me outside and give me a slap.

Do you mean abundance or similar? Dearth means scarcity or shortage.

Ah! Takes me back to the collective insanity of the blue Peach Jags....good times.
Wonder how long before a few ebay chancers try flipping these for a profit?

    Right.  Ignorance admission time.

While these all look gorgeous, can anyone explain to me in words of one syllable why/how these R8 jobbies are (at least) £1k 'better' than my LP Standard (2003 model, if that makes a difference): they all look virtually identical?

Basically Gibson are very good at selling certain people the same guitar over and over again at various prices

Ok chaps, just had an email from Jeff at Peach.

As you know, the one I originally picked out from the first batch had some damage, so we agreed that I would choose one from the second batch.

    Well, they are in !

I have just picked out this one, lovely colour, great top, same spec. Weighing in at 8lbs 6oz. It will be with me on Wednesday.

Yup Gibson are the only company that do that, fender refuse to sell strats or teles at different price points, and definitely wouldn't sell a simple bolt on guitar for over 3k.

Definitely need to try before buying is my policy especially at those prices. I tried a custom les Paul recently at a shop and really didn't like it compared to my very standard les Paul. Looked nice though. Looking nice does t always mean a nice playing and sounding instrument IMO :) Id love to hear from on anyone who bought one of the peach range as to what they think of them ?

Wow @Ossyrocks , looks like the gods were smiling on you and intervened, that looks like it has some flame in the top and is lighter than any of the previous guitars in the same line. Awesome stuff!

Definitely understand this, but I'm at the other end of the country and there's no way I can make it down to see them in person before they're gone.

Also, having bought 4 guitars from Peach before without handling them first, two of them 2014 historics, I am comfortable with it. The two 2014's were excellent and they seemed to be consistent in terms of build and tone with all the others I have seen before and since.

It is a gamble, but I'm prepared to take it.

    Rob.

I wouldn't worry. If it is not your thing you are within your rights to return it or you may just be offered the same money to sell it on here.

I'm nowhere near Peach and I don't have time so if I do get one it'll be an internet order.

Blooming heck, in the new batch you mean? Amazing, especially considering they are non weight relieved. Will look at the new ones with interest when they appear.

Not much of a gamble really, if you don't like it you can always sell it once the offers have gone. I remember in 2005/6 Coda selling off a load of Masterbuilts for Fender at £1995....the '55 Strats and Proto Reverse Strat. Bargain. Had one, didn't bond...sold it, no money lost.
Are these cheap? (I don't do Gibson, so apologies if they aren't) They had the R8's same as Peach too.
