After a couple of full-on and fairly draining months I'm now chilling out, lapping up the wall-to-wall sunshine and taking relaxing bike rides on the Ile de Ré. Lovely.

While waking up and not getting back to sleep at 5.30am isn’t ideal preparation I am very excited as my band is playing a festival later today for (hopefully) a thousand or so folks

Nice one! My daughter’s playing the main stage at Cambridge’s Strawberry Fair later - can’t wait! :)

I'm sat in the sun outside The Boot in Weymouth  listening to American Girl and Running Down a Dream.

Came back from Weymouth on the train looking at Poole Harbour and the Solent in the sunshine with a cold beer in my hand and Can's Future Days in my ears.
    Happy days ...

Can are a great band and Future Days is one of their best albums (Tago Mago beats it IMO).  Moonshake though….yeah baby!!!

Yes. Bel Air was just the right drifting feel for the trip home though.

Thanks @jackio .  No mate. Lake Placid, just outside Cairns.

Ah still nice I’m sure @Dav275   It looked just like tha, the Bris river, upstream 30 mins from the city when I lived there. Massive fruit bat colony that could be smelt quite well.

Anyhow, it looks lovely and I’m sure was a great day

A house 'round the corner had a table with "take anything you want" on it.

Lady BMcH and I might have looked a bit odd walking home with 20m² of polythene sheeting and a meat cleaver, but who was going to stop us?

@Sporky that deserves a wis lol, I've just spat out some liquid.
I have bought two meat cleavers, a couple of nice knives and other potentially bad person things from boot sales and walked away unscathed.

This gave me a massive smile but also brought a bit of a lump to my throat earlier today. My 97 year old mum meeting her great granddaughter for the first time.  :)

We only saw one other person on the walk back home. Lady BMcH, who had the meat cleaver, called out in a very jolly tone of voice "this isn't what it looks like!"

I think we got away with it.

Cheers @Nitefly. But err no, that’s my daughter’s thing, she’s done it since she was in her teens and has obviously passed it on to the new baby.

This morning Lady BMcH asked me "why did the people at [house name] have all that polythene sheeting and a meat cleaver in the first place?"

    Hmm.
