Wee lass I'm 'seeing' wasn't interested, but I made her interested.

@jd0272 I'm intrigued - what do you mean by that?

Closest I've got is having dropped playing bass into the conversation - that seemed to do more for her than guitar, oddly. She said "That makes me fancy you more" :D I mean I don't think she's totally uninterested but she takes ages to reply and so on.
Right. It's all about confidence mate, and really wanting what you go after.

My entire world went to shit, and I spent three months thinking of reasons to keep me neck out of a noose. I then had a personal epiphany, and my whole perspective shifted entirely. With a bit of help from my mate @Alnico

Was sitting in office one day and she was in seeing one of her punters. Bear in mind I knew nothing of the girl other than her professional life. And I thought, "You know what? I'm having her". Had always really liked her, but was married, so was always a nothing.

Did some digging around, ascertained she was single (had me mate at work 'interrogate' her) but also hugely busy with very little free time due to debt from her previous relationship breakdown, and having to work loads to address that.

I just went for it. Emailed her, effectively saying, "I really like you, and this is what's gonna happen.." Some mild protestation, which I circumnavigated, she gave up her mobile number, and first date occurred. And a blinder it was too. Mind, I didn't realise she was eleven years my junior, but you take the bonus where you can! Then she buggered off to Aus for three or so weeks. Women!

That was what, four months ago? Still going. You've gotta make her feel like she's the only girl on the planet, every day. But it has to feel like that to you as well. I don't bullshit her, lie to her, argue with her, pick fault, nowt. Life's too short.

She knows my children are my priority, but I make sure she's aware that after my children, she's the most important person in my life. Every day.

Y'see, I'm not afraid of rejection, or to say what I feel. I'm not jealous or possessive, or a 'worrier' in relationships, it is what it'll be, just enjoy it. And make sure your on yer game in the sack...

She had a 'blip' last week when she ended it. I accepted that and didn't ask why? The blip only lasted three days. Turns out she flapped cause she likes me more than she thought she should. Order was soon restored.

I 'made' an absolutely stunning wee blonde girl, who's very intelligent, very clever, and very independent, 'like me'
, when she wasn't looking for anything at all bloke wise when I decided to do that.

If I can do that, at 44, I'm sure you'll breeze it. Just don't talk about fucking guitars all night. You want, go get.

Wahey - congrats!  Be a good lad, and don't put your hand up her skirt.

Not in the first half-hour, anyway.  ;)

Yesterday I went on these 4 times each and didn't die!

Fastest roller coaster in the world. You go from 0 to 150 mph in the first 4 seconds. The video doesn't do it justice!

This one is new and is probably my 2nd favourite coaster I've been on after Alpengeist in the USA, and maybe Nemesis as well. The loop with barrel roll at the top is phenomenal.

On Monday I called out the council to a Wasps nest. Because the appoinment was Wednesday I sprayed some fly spray on a jay-cloth and pushed it under the guttering.

When the pest controller arrived he said that wasps in the nest were all dead and then offered me a job.

I have no idea why I am pretending to be happy when I have wasted £40.

The date seemed to go pretty well but things have ground to a halt after trying to get a second date organised. Ah well. Anyway, I seem to have successfully moved my entire iTunes library from one drive on my computer to the other, freeing up 59.6 GB of space on my main drive which should make my elderly, ailing PC run a bit smoother. EDIT: What's happened to line breaks in posts?

Not really, I just said something like "See you soon, hopefully?" as we parted. I don't know if that's right or not.

This is an odd smiley happy.
19,320* days was what my dad got on this planet.  I was 15 when he died.
I've always basically thought "genes will out" -- and I dunno, didn't expect to get this far.  No pension plan; no ties; no commitments.  It hasn't dominated my life but it has always been there, a pressure behind some big decisions.

    Today, for me, is 19321
    +1

It's the last day I'll count.
    It's an open road now.

Wow for you, @Grunfeld  - "congrats" doesn't seem quite appropriate, though!  OM was convinced she would die before making 60, as her mother died at 59, having never drunk or smoked - she's much more relaxed about the future now.

I suppose that's good news in that you've lived longer than expected but not so great if your retirement plans have been dependant on being dead.

Yeah, that's alright. I know it's a bit of a cliche, but not bring pushy is the right thing to do.

    Well done you.

Well she's on holiday now, we haven't texted for a few days but she's still Snapchatting me on occasion and I've been replying... might text her at some point but I dunno. It'd be nice to get something arranged once she's back (whenever that is) but I'm not gonna push too hard.

I turned up to training this morning, and saw the local area secretary of the AJA was here. Didn't think much of it as he likes to gossip with the chap in charge of the judo school I help/learn at.

As it turns out he was there to assess several of the teachers for their coaching qualifications.

So now I'm an AJA brown belt, county level referee and club level coach.

    Which in nice.

I managed to find an old and very good friend today who i lost touch with 5 years ago.

All i could get was his address and i only found him because he started a transport company in 2014 and is listed on google because of it but i found him all the same. I will be writing to him the old fashioned way next week.

A former Paratrooper and a proper best mate who I've missed a great deal in the last 5 years. To see his name finally come up on something and know it's him was a real moment and i can't wait to hear back from him. I've looked around online everywhere and asked here and there but one ever knew who i was talking about.
I literally lost all my devices in one go, from one laptop bag in 2012 including the phone with his number and the laptop with his email etc. I hadn't backed anything up and i had no notes or online cloud storage back then. I lost the address i had written down on a scrap of paper and all i had to go on was trawling around guitar forums to see if i could spot him.
Then time moved on and i lost contact completely.

It's a proper good day now.

If there's an outside chance anyone remembers a Maiden Tribute band from around 10 years ago in the NW called 'Two Minutes to Maiden', you will know who i'm talking about.

I honestly can't wait to speak to him.

He once said to me that "Mates don't let Mates down EVER" and i can honestly say that i haven't ever given up looking for a way to find him. I can tell him that i never let him down in honesty when i speak to him and to someone like him, that will mean a great deal.
