Who's play what list updated.

We've got 25 attendees, plus poopot, Bridgehouse & myself - so 28 potential players. So far, 18 people have signed up to claim a slot or two - mainly guitar.

A few people have offered to do bass "on something" without saying what that something might be. Please claim bass slots too.

I'm assuming (@poopot) that our star drummer will pick up all the drumming slots that no-one claims?

I'd like to play bass on Come Together, Purple Rain, Teenage Kicks and Tush.

If all the bass slots go and there are bassists left without a slot, am happy to give some up.

Ive been playing for a while now but not jammed for years. Would say i am a confident ok. My son (plays bass) has been playing for a year and he does jam every week at school and at rock project. He has performed a handful of times and I would say he is good and confident.

He already knows come together beatles so he can play bass and I will learn the rhythm.

Same again for signed sealed delivered

I would like to play on Fire Hendrix. Again I'll play rhythm and boy on bass.

Might add another but but will what my boy wants to do...

BTW, the Spotify playlist only gives the first 30 seconds of each song. I don't know the first thing about Spotify (or some of the songs listed either!), but I don't belong to FaceBook etc because they all ask you to sign up, and life is just too short ! (This place is the rare exception, job well done!) Is spottily all paid subscription ? And, yes, I have been living under a rock all these years ! To be a rock and not to roll ~ someone should use that in a song

I'm on Spotify premium and it plays full songs.
That might be something to do with it.

FYI, Ours is a family membership. £15 per month and we can have up to 5 people have their own account and listening profile etc.............bit like Netflix.

It's the only thing that gets played now in our house, it's awesome.

You should be able to create a free account with a google email account - so no need for facebook acct

If you follow the link to the playlist I find that Spotify defaults to 30seconds of each song, if you go into Spotify and search for the FB Jam WaterRats Jun 2018 the list with full songs comes up.

I've been doing a little researching.

Started by trying to open the link in Safari - for Spotify to display a message saying that it wasn't compatible with my browser and prompting me to switch browsers. Interestingly, whilst saying that it wasn't compatible with my browser, it would still play the track, albeit limited to 30 seconds only (ie your experience).

Compatible browsers are Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Opera.

The other option prompted is to play the playlist in the Spotify app. That's a free download (Win, OS X, iOS and - untested by me - Android) and you can create an account with just an email address. You don't need to be a facebookist or a Google accountist (those are just options to make it easier for those who are).

Download the app and use Spotify for free. No payments required. The "cost" you pay is to listen to a couple of ads every 10-15mins, which isn't too intrusive.

TL:DR version - just install the Spotify app

Just for clarity - I’m not sitting this one out cos I’m in a mard or anything

3 reasons:

1. Everyone should have a chance to play, and I get that chance at every jam - it’s only fair I sit a few out from time to time
2. I’ve never had a chance to experience the alternate rooms and I’d like to
3. Running the day and playing is really all consuming and I don’t get to sit around and chat, meet people and generally see how everyone is doing

For this one I thought I’d get a more rounded view of how the jams are going if I sit it out and concentrate on running the day and seeing how the other rooms work.
