Sign up on this thread if you want to play , or sing, on anything in the setlist.  It's not obligatory.  People are welcome to attend without playing anything, but if that's what you're planning on doing, please say so on the thread so I stop chasing you!

Give us an indication of your playing "level" - beginner / (just about) OK /  well practised at this sort of thing (or "good").

If some songs are super-popular, we'll do them twice.

If some songs are super-unpopular, we'll drop them and replace with something else.

We've pretty much got drums covered for the day, although if anyone really wants to play drums on a track or two, that's fine, say so on the thread.

Assume that there will be at least one rhythm and one lead guitar part on each track, but accommodating 3 guitar parts on some tracks shouldn't be a problem either.

    Plus bass & vocals.

I'll keep a master list of who's doing what in the second post ^^^ on this thread.

Could I take 'Comfortably Numb' and 'Down at the Doctors' please?
I'll play lead guitar on both and rhythm where needed in these songs and any others if people want me.

    I'll say I'm "Well practiced..."

    I'm not a singer anymore.

  • Could I take a guitar spot on American Woman, Teenage Kicks and one song picked by @TTony ; because I need a challenge. My player level is "barely" but I've got plenty of time to practice and I'm getting better. For teenage kicks I'd like to try the solo as well as the rhythm is pretty basic and I can just about carry that.

CanI please sing Learning to Fly and Call me the Breeze?

As ever, happy to provide rank amateur vocals on most things with gaps but those I'd particularly like to sing.

I'm going to put myself down for rhythm on Call Me the Breeze and Just What I Needed and Down at the Doctors.

I might even try singing Call Me the Breeze too ... anything is possible.

And I'll pick up a bass for the solo on Allright Now.

Anyone else, don't be put off by these seasoned jammers diving in and claiming this, that, or the other.

If some songs are over-subscribed, we'll do them twice, so everyone who wants to play, should get to play.

    Claim whatever you want!

I`m happy playing rhythm on Honky Tonk and Alright Now but also happy to fit in as needed (I need to learn new songs) so will learn Fortunate Son and Come Together.

Would probably fall into (just about) OK /getting better, but would not dream of singing !

    Thanks Tony.

I've bBeen playing a year (I'm past clumsy beginner but not at 'OK' yet!) but haven't learnt any of those - care to suggest? (Not Alright Now). I like to rock.

As well as riffs I'm ok with learning a solo if not super fast or long. Can wing it in pentatonic too.

I'll take the guitar on White Room if that's ok, it'll be great to learn it again. Last time I played it was a loooong time ago so it'll give me something to focus on

Oh, no singing from me! Playing level is ok but lack confidence playing in front of others.

  • OK, I realise I haven't put forward any suggestions - but I'll go for Signed, Sealed, Delivered and Teenage Kicks if there's a slot available.  And it's been over 25 years since I last sang in public - but I'll have a crack at Comfy.

I'll put myself in the 'OK' category.

Would like to play rhythm on Just What I Needed, Come Together and Teenage Kicks if possible. Also happy to play rhythm on Beat It and Tush if required. Will attempt to learn Honky Tonk and the lead fills for Fortunate Son before the jam and would appreciate the opportunity to practice these two tracks outside of the live room. Would say that my level is somewhere between seasoned beginner and intermediate!  Absolutely no singing ability, although could be persuaded to contribute shouty unharmonic vocals with others!

I'd like to play on White Room, Beat It, Champagne Supernova, Teenage Kicks.

Happy to play rhythm or lead, wouldn't mind doing the beat it solo but Whiteroom don't have the strongest wah soloing game so very happy to be just rhythm  - would pitch myself at intermediate, I'm ok - but don't have a lot of experience playing with others.

(Although as @bucket proved this week, sometimes I can accidentally stay in the same key as the person I'm playing with - I'll try not to repeat that!)

Oh, and wouldn't mind rhythm on Purple Rain or Tush either if you're short

I'd like to play lead on All Right Now and Honky Tonk Woman - my level is "cheesey pub rocker"

If whoever's down to play bass fancies a break, I can play bass on Beat It, Come Together, Purple Rain, Teenage Kicks and Tush. Whatever fits with the plan...  I can play them on bass now, so no pressure to learn too much and pull out with a few days to go.

happy to do something on American Woman too.

that puts me at 3, (tag misspelt against Tush).

I've never played bass but don't mind having a go if there's a need. do have an octave pedal!

I'd like to play guitar on anything as long as I have enough time to learn it.  I'm intermediate level I guess but have never played with other musicians before so probably rhythm rather than lead.  My main thing to get from the day apart from meeting everyone is to experience playing with a group so doesn't matter how much.

I don't play bass but could probably learn the parts on guitar and the screw it up on the day on someones bass if required.

Singing probably not in anyone's interests for me to sing but if a song can't be filled and no-one has any expectations at all I'm prepared to inflict it on you.

@munckee don't be shy of trying a solo you know, we can strum it through in the side room first.

Its timing rather than shyness, I recently bought a looper pedal so I'm going to work on playing solos over rhythm parts.  I also have a mental block where I can play about 2/3rds of loads of solos and then fudge the end as I can't remember any more.  Something by the beatles, comfortably numb and hey joe are classic examples!

Do you list versions and signature keys for the songs? Wouldn't be the first time I've turned up for a practise session and some have learned one version, the others another version. Particularly for the less experienced guitarist who can't just move from one key to another.
