@Sarge could I ask is there a way to stop the green dye you used bleeding over the lines in the body? I am messing about with a hondo ii body I got that has similar lines and wanted to do a few colours but am worried about it bleeding across the wood. I have not finished sanding it yet but this is it.

I use blue painters masking tape, if you cover the darker wood (walnut?) and go up to the edge of the wood you're staining then if there is any bleed through it'll be onto the dark strip and much less noticeable.
When I apply the tape I use my thumbnail to make sure the tape has stuck tight along the edge.
Ive not had bleeding issues this way, only on the headstock bleeding onto the sides slightly, I sorted this with a couple of light coats of Tru Oil on the sides so the stain won't seep into the wood.

I like these Korean Hondos, the stock pickups were awful but a well built body/neck.

Thanks @Sarge much appreciated, it does seem like a nice guitar though I got it with a replica bigsby screwed on over the tunomatic bridge ferrules. I'm hoping I can fill the holes of the screws and it won't show up stained. If it looks even a tenth the guitars yours do I'll be a happy bunny.

I think I saw that on ebay? I was very tempted but held off, and if I had bought it I wouldn't have had enough to get the Washburn Falcon a fewddays later.

Hey, do you have build threads anywhere else for these two? Or any documentation of the builds? They're both beautiful, especially the Strat, the hardware colour along with the scratchplate is perfect.

Here is JB009 - Frankencaster, mainly built from parts bought for other builds - sapele sides, maple top and back with sycamore veneer, WilkinsonP90 and Artec HotRails , Chinese neck. Should be a JB, not a JBS so I might refinish the headstock later

I recently finished a P90 Jaguar build. Custom made body with a 70s Fender Musicmaster neck. It sounds AMAZING.

This was finished today at long last. bone nut fitted and I made a wooden pickguard which I have not yet screwed on, am going to spend a couple of days looking at it before making any holes. Either way it was my first proper project and it's now complete.

Here are three HB mods which I worked on before I was aware of this challenge. One originally a black Telecaster. A black Mini Strat and a black Junior Strat. All three have had their necks reduced to convert to 4 strings. The Telecaster is now a long neck tenor (Tenorcaster). The Mini Strat is now a short neck tenor (Forecaster), while the junior is now a baritone ukulele (Ukaster), all strung DGBE. There's more work to be done, stainless steel buttons to infill the removed tuners, pickups to be changed and covers to be adapted.

This all started after I decided to mod a junkshop Squier Strat which after work turned out to be too good to carve up.

And the reason for all this madness? I got drawn in to playing a Uke having failed with guitars and keyboards over many years of sound work. I found I could deal with 4 strings but needed a lower frequency range. Ergo, the tenor guitar.

I'm pleased to announce the birth of T3 - The Recyclecaster, built almost entirely of re-used items. Only the bridge, knobs, straplocks, and the tone capacitor were bought new. Everything else is recycled or left over from prevuis projects. I know the guitar is nowhere near as pretty as anything others on here. In fact the back of the body has been left roughly as it was when it came out of the skip, with only a coat of Tru-oil to promote moisture stability.

Note the front's colour match to my waistcoat:

Did a few amps!

4 Watt Champ clone - guts look like this:

18 Watt TMB Marshall clone - Plexi front end with a more sensible power section (2x EL84's) - Guts look like this:

(valve wiring is a bit poor, must do better next time!)

Boxed up it looks like this:

Both were kits from the ampmaker - would highly recommend them, there have been great fun!

Going to do something bigger next time in the 50 watt range, maybe a 2204 clone!

@GrahamM I finally finished it! Thanks again for the paint work. Ironically the body fell out of the box in my boot on the way home and started relicing itself anyway!
And for the rest of you, it's a Mexican RI neck, Guitarbuild body (ebay special), Mojo wide range pickups (which sound immense), paint from Raygun Relics and months of procrastination from me.
