A couple of hours drive for me from Exmouth but I don't expect there will ever be anything closer, so I'm interested date permitting.

@nickp - thank you for stepping forward & kindly offering to help. Please could you ask Factory Studios (0117 952 5655) for availability of the Live Room and the closest reasonably sized rehearsal studio (preferably not the Pole Room) between 11am and 6pm on Saturdays and Sundays in May and June. Once we have that we will need a quick reply from everyone in this discussion as to which dates they can/cannot do. Please could you confirm with Factory if they require a deposit, and if so, what this would be.

I'm in - glad to see some familiar names committed too

I can ask my current drummer if he's up for it. He's got a great sound and feel and is a good laugh too

I can relate to this. Things that you mean to do get dropped in the hurry to cope with something else. On the other hand, getting involved with something in the medium to long term future could be a welcome distraction from the here and now.

All the normal life/work/stuff provisos about dates notwithstanding, I will be there. Having no band and no jamming folks at the mo means I hardly ever pick up a guitar at but it was such a good day and if there's even a chance of another Iron Man, no one should miss it!!

FWIIW, May 4th and 25th are public holidays. This could assist some attendees with travel (and drinking) arrangements.

Conversely, it may also cause the roads to be in gridlock.

THINKS: In the event that the suggested dates are unacceptable to the majority of would-be attendees, what other towns or cities would be considered to be within reasonable travelling distance?

Can't do the 6th-10th May- I'm at a Harley event in Southern France.
Can't do June 14th, I'm riding to Milan to see Foo Fighters. (!!!)

Any of the other dates I might suddenly be unavailable for if either work or touring opportunities come up or if I am in Geneva.

The 4th May bank holiday is on the 8th May (Friday) this year as it's the 75th anniversary of VE Day.

No preference. If it was on June 13 or 21 I’d might need to leave a bit early to catch Wales’s Euro matches at 5pm, though at this rate the tournament will be cancelled. Don’t take this into account when choosing a day.

I would prefer it on a Saturday but could do a Sunday, just means I take Monday off work rather than Friday.

I can't say Saturdays owing to existing gigs or the possibility of a gig coming in. I might be able to squeeze in a Saturday if there's still a slot available closer to the time..

question for the group - to minimise admin and to potentially raise a few quid for tFB coffers, would you be happy to pay in full now (depending on final confirmed numbers from this initial group, subs are likely to be circa £12-15 each to cover our costs with Factory) and have any additional attendees pay the same amount in subs with any excess going to tFB?
