Its a nice clear bit of idigbo. Should be lightweight, resonant, and have that nice korina colour when finished, rather than the olive colour some idigbo can have.
I'm going to cut a 20mm strip off before slicing up for a body, I'm hoping I can get a couple of neck lams from it for a 3 piece neck with contrasting mahogany center stripe.
It's marked out for a 25mm strip, so I have a bit of room for error. I've taken it from the edge that is closest to quartered

also its readily available in rough sawn 2” thick planks from various timber merchants at a good price
i don’t know why it doesnt get more use -
Paired with maple caps it makes excellent giitars IMO

Wood is now prepped. I've gone for a 5 piece neck with idigbo, sapele and maple. I have left the lams without a heel at the moment. I think I'm going to add an idigbo heel and head plate front and back so the lams are only visible in the neck shaft.
I also rearranged the body on the rest of the idigbo. The above pic shows horns together. I flipped it so the tail end was together to give bookmatched grain on the end of the body

I've also extended the neck join on this drawing.

This one will be left slab bodied and jnr style though.
