I'm watching it on sky, so cant see them.  BBC coverage as only good with Jake.  EJ was ALWAYS a name dropping plonker, so any chance to escape his inane drivel is welcome.
Sky is way better than BBC its a shame Coultard did not join Sky
Yeah, it's a shame because I don't have Sky and then I wouldn't have to put up with him!
    :D

I don't mind Coulthard until he starts waffling on about the only reason Hakkinen used to kick his arse was because Ron Dennis liked Mika more than him. Of course, it was nothing to do with Mika being shit hot and Coulthard being nothing more than average.

Watching the Quali on iplayer. Suzie is still fairly awful, she always was with the bikes, so it's not going to get better. The Beeb need to realise the reason Jake was so good is because he *really* knows his stuff, works really hard to research what he doesn't and can talk intelligently and spot a moment to grab a passing team boss or whatever. Perry just doesn't have that.

And while EJ can be annoying, and certainly plays the fool, he is excellent at asking the right questions of team bosses in particular. His interview with Horner re Ricciardo/Alonso etc was excellent.

Yup, Suzy Perry is like a fish out of water. She seems lost for words a lot of the time, and there are embarrassing silences in the commentary. Jake Humphries was excellent, shame he went elsewhere.

An interesting grid. Three Brits in the top six and whilst Hamilton needs to be wary of Vettel at the start there's an angry Aussie looking for payback - if Webber can get a good start the run down the straight could be tastyif he can get alongside Vettel. And just to speice things up further we have rain ....

Trouble is, the grid is a bit mixed up, what with the changing conditions in qualifying and all. I think maybe Button and Di Resta are out of position. It would be interesting race under normal conditions, and if it rains, then we're on for a cracker!

As long as Grosjean and Perez behave themselves, and don't hit anything.

I don't like the way the Stewards are running races these days. Also: rain please?

    It's Spa, it'll rain...

And defiantly pot calls kettle black with Perez and Grosjean.

Indeed. For me Alonso was the man of the race though. Jenson did well to stay where he did, especially with Perez in 11th....

I think Mercedes set the car up with one eye on it raining today .. the top end speed wasn't there.

Shame it didn't rain, but there you go! I thought JB did the best job he could. Shame about Kimi's braking problem, that could have been nasty. I can imagine him ignoring requests to ease off, though. But FFS Perez needs to change his approach, what a tosser. Did anyone see the interview with him yesterday? He's cultivated this "I don't care who I have to walk over" attitude, which would be fine if he backed it up- with decent driving.

Wonder when we get to see who goes where? Next few days, hopefully?

I've kind of blocked off position one in my mind these days and concentrate on No.2 downwards.

Good idea - I do the same with Le Mans, it'll be Audi, then Toyota, and then it gets interesting.

Shit. That means EJ was was right. Smug twat. Anyway, is JB going to be driving in F1 next year? He's sounding increasingly like a desperate man to me.

JB's about to sign another 3 year McLaren deal. I still think Kimi will be at Ferrari.

I think Mclaren need JB with the Honda deal so I think he's safe

That's what I think. He's pretty popular in Japan despite his earlier Honda career...

I'm not so sure. Could the lack of signed contracts for Button and Perez hint at a change in leadership? I think Whitmarsh's days are numbered - big Ron could be back. Button is laughing off his comments at the weekend as 'winding Ron up' - if McLaren don't want to sign him I think he'd go to Ferrari. Alonso and Ferrari's management rate him and he's a consistent points scorer [unlike Massa] and positive influence. It will come down to whether Jenson wants another year in limbo [2014] - McLaren won't get much support from Mercedes. And his relationship with Honda pre-Brawn wasn't great. I seriously doubt he'll be there in 2015.

"JB about to sign a 3-year Maclaren deal." So, he's off to Ferrari, in that case!

I don't think Massa will be there in 2014. If Ferrari want to seriously challenge in 2014 they'll need a Kimi or Jenson to pressurise Fernado into performing.

  • I concur, Fret.

Tell me, just why IS Massa still driving for Ferrari? Does he possess images of Montezuma with a sheep, maybe? He is in the most famous F1 team, and apart from odd flashes of brilliance has had a lacklustre career with them.
