@AustrianJohn Your band name is a little hard to google... What style of music are you doing? (It's two hours' drive for me.)

We're an acoustic duo - varied stuff mainly from the 70s, Clapton, Stones, Beatles - lots of blues, even a Britney song.

To be honest, I wouldn't drive 2 hours to watch us!

Against the odds last night at the Crown was a cracking little gig. We were two men down the bass (ex?) player having absconded to Barcelona and lead vocalist off work with a double hernia. So we called a dep bassist and Pauline stepped up to the plate to take the lead vox. The drive down to Littlehampton was horrendous - torrential rain flooded roads and fog. The dep bass player was great and Pauline aced it, in fact everyone played out of their skins to a small but lively crowd. Even the four unnecessary security guys were dancing around outside.
    Don't touch that dial.

@AustrianJohn I've been told to practice being more optimistic: there was a(n admittedly small) chance you were in a raging Winger/Giant tribute band. :) The drunk après-ski crowd will, after all, dance to anything!

We played the Dolphin last summer on a steamy Sunday. Shame the Black Dog in crawley got turned into a Greek restaurant cos we could have had Black Dog at the Black Dog.

I will be causing a public nuisance with a bass and a fuzz pedal tonight :). First gig with our new singer Silvia.

Kurtz at the Wee Red Bar, Edinburgh College Of Art - 7-10pm, three bands, we're the middle one. Don't even know who the other bands are, it was arranged at the last minute and all a bit chaotic! Probably a bit like our set... ;) noisy garage rock if you like that sort of thing - Stooges, Dead Kennedys, Cramps, PJ Harvey, Siouxsie etc all done our own way.

"Take these three items, some WD-40, a vise grip, and a roll of duct tape. Any man worth his salt can fix almost any problem with this stuff alone." - Walt Kowalski

    "Just because I don't care, doesn't mean I don't understand." - Homer Simpson

  • Doing a local show tonight covering for a mate's band. Its my first guitar gig in over a year (usually fill in for bass) so it's a big deal for me, using someone else's rig, playing a new tune as well which I've spent the past 5 days learning as well as the rest of the set (8 song set).

The Cabbage Patch, Twickenham this Friday May 18. If you like a bit of Who-y, jangly, psychy, 60s sort of stuff come down. My band, The Moot, and support Trees and The Slipway + DJ. It's free entry, doors at 8. All original tunes. It would be great to see any Fretboarders from SW London.
