Do you notice much of a gap with channel changes? There's the usual knickers in a twist about it from some people on the Fractal forum, but unless no-one else is playing then i can't see it being a problem for me in a band setting.
Looking forward to trying it out for myself, hopefully I'll have one in the next few weeks.
There's definitely some tiny, tiny gap - but waaaaay faster than a scene change previously - so to all intents and purposes no.
It's also definitely faster than any Marshall amp channel switching I've played with for example
(with more tonal variation).
I have to say - the scene change is similarly fast, which along with scene naming puts the whole thing on a head for me.
Now I've got it so the scenes are the main tonal changes, the only 'pedals' I switch in are mods if I feel like it. Whereas before I'd be adding a lot more with pedals.
I do that now with ax8 so assume the new model can do it.
I’m looking forward to the new software - it would be great if the ax8 could name scenes and have even quicker changes too.
Also, the amount of arse-kissing on the official Fractal forums is just ridiculous.
I love the fractal products but dear God, I wish their staff weren't so far up their own arses.
Firmware will be available.... Sometime. Maybe.

Just baffles me the way they talk to their customers sometimes. It's not as if it's a cheap unit or anything... Maybe it's an American thing?
Anyway, just a shame the q10 firmware is being delayed. Fingers crossed we get it this week!
But it (and the edit) still do feel very beta and the updates are thick and fast. Suspect they’re getting slammed at the minute and that can’t be helping the mood.
I think this will go on for the next six months until the FCs are out and the dust has settled.
But as i said, good grief the new unit and os are impressive! So you can only imagine the work

I agree with this, it's one of the most hostile forums I've been on - you do get good advice. But be prepared for condescending replies (where they haven't read your question) and slavish defence of Fractal (I love the product, but the III rollout and the FC footswitches hasn't been well handled, your device will still work if you admit that!)
What really gets me is the constant arse-kissing of Cliff and the team, and the impression they are delivering the greatest customer service in the World - and that they seem to be the only company that support products after release. It amazes me how some people have such closed experiences!
Kind of annoys me as I'd love an AFX III, but the whole fiasco of the europe launch etc. has put me right off.

What upsets me is many of the Fractal Weirdos are European!
On another topic - I run my III at home, the same way as my AX8, summ'd (L+R) in the unit to one DXR-10, and I like the sound.
Recently I've been toying with the idea of getting a second speaker and running in stereo for the delays and reverbs mainly (possibly a bit of chorus, but I tend to run that ahead of the amp).
Space is a bit of an issue, so it's much better if I don't do it! Just wanted to ask, is it that much better? (I don't have any summing issues at the moment)
I can't run in mono anymore.. I hate it. All my patches no matter what platform.. stereo delay + stereo flanger

I run two DXR10'S, and the sound is immense. Have one either side of the drummer as a backline, and the stereo effects really fill the sound out.
Also helpful as I'm the only guitarist....
