I can copy & paste fine.

There's no "paste" option from a right-mouse button click into the "leave a comment" box, but Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V works fine.

Having trouble posting images here?  This might help.

How do I re-name a URL link so it looks like not the URL but a different word?
Type the word you want to be a link then highlight it and click the "Insert Hyperlink" button.
    Hello
Thanks :) Any way to make it open said URL in a new tab/window, or am I asking for a stick to mount my moon on?

One more thing - smilies. any chance of the name of the smily appearing if they are hovered over?
    No idea!

    But we can certainly investigate.

Is there anyway to amend/edit posts?

As DDlooping made a couple of good suggestions for my theory basics.

Can we still post images straight from photo bucket? I've tried two links and they're not working.

Move your mouse over the comment you want to edit and a "gear" button should appear next to the up/down arrows, on the right in the comment header.
Click it and click "Edit". :)

Yes - use the "direct" link, and post it straight into your post here - no tags needed.

Sorry if this is a repeat question or I'm being dim -  is there a way to see a preview of post without clicking on it - sometimes the title is a bit cryptic and I'm very lazy :)

On the "Discussions" page, put your mouse over the eye icon. :)
It is yet to be implemented on the other relevant pages. ;)

Adding to the list of up front apologies for a potentially stupid question but ...

... how do I preview a post before posting it?

You can only preview a post when you start a new discussion, and not when replying to one.

  • I'm having trouble posting images from my iPad, the insert image button (and all the other buttons actually!) are shaded out. Sorry if this has already been covered, I are dumbass.  :\">

You can just paste an image URL (just the URL not BBCode) and then it should auto convert
