So Mathieu's Lion Supreme finally got assembled after paint took an age to get her done.
Lightly quilted top. Lightweight build and a slim neck with a 42mm wide nut - like on his G&L

The back was done in satin finish whilst the front was all glossy
    Still got that comfy heel

Seymour Duncan Tripleshot mounting rings allowing each pickup to be set for series humbucker, parallel humbucker and each of the two single coils chosen on it's own.
Pickups shown here are a pair of Oil City Masterwound Tubesnake model which were designed to give a vintage PAF with an alnico 2 magnet. The tone benchmark players were Slash and Billy Gibbons ...hence the Tubesnake name.

Many guitars have a re-sale value. Some you'll never want to sell.
Stockist of: Earvana & Graphtech nuts, Faber Tonepros & Gotoh hardware, Fatcat bridges. Highwood Saddles.

Pickups from BKP, Oil City & Monty's pickups.

No - it's satin polyurethane finish on the back, with a gloss Poly finish on the front

Turing weight relief into a design feature.  Cool.

I meant to ask when i saw this on Facebook earlier, was there any reason he went for a Tele neck on it ? Even more weight reduction from the smaller headstock ? Maybe thought the square heel would mean less side to side movement now that there is less side support from the neck pocket maybe ?
Or just needed a new neck and that's what was available ?

Russ Ballard's guitar wasn't drilled out for weight reduction as far as I know  - it was pure;y a looks thing .
The 70s ash bodied strat body that I made into a Ballard inspired guitar on the other hand DID need weight reduction as it was killer heavy. It was like a boat anchor. It was a left over body after we made the owner of the original guitar a new lighter body for the original

    .

Russ' strat neck had a hole drilled in the headstock too and this made it split when it was dropped on tour some time in the 1970s. They found him a neck to replace the broken one and it happened to be a tele one. There wasn't anything more cunning than that , although it may be that he liked the feel of the neck.

Been neglecting posting my updates for a while . Here is one for one of our FretBoard brothers

A Feline Lion Supreme with a touch of a '59 LP look about it

Still got the easy neck access players love

Added a couple of push /pull pots subsequently to give phase reversal and coil split tone options
