I thought that when we met, but I didn't quite have the nerve to mention it; silly really.

Which reminds me that Sam M likened me to Sonny Landreth, and I agreed I could see a likeness there. No, he said, you play like him - the highest praise I've ever received[1] - I assume Sam is now in a secure unit somewhere. Poor, lovely, deluded boy.

[1] I've mentioned this before, but one bandleader said to me "Can you play so it doesn't sound like Keith Richards?" shortly before I left an industrial metal band. Hey ho.
