A tele.  And I never want to either.  Appalling looking things.
Ignoring  a quick "fumble in the music room" friends' Strat and Les Paul  school the Telecaster is the only electric I've played or owned.

I don’t think I’ve ever actually played a proper “full fat” Les Paul. Juniors ? Yes I own one but an actual two humbucker carved top single cut ? I don’t think so. I should probably go and remedy that

    Rickys.

My poor old hands are much too big for their board width.

*An Official Foo-Approved guitarist since Sept 2023.

I’ve never owned a full-fat Les Paul (I have a LP special). I’ve played a few but literally for a few minutes in noisy environments. It’s just a sound / look I’ve never been particularly drawn to.

Never played but would love to play a Jazzmaster, Casino & Hollowbody jazz guitar.  All 3 are on my ‘to buy’ list although it will be quite a few years down the line, when I get them all. I might even hate some of them…but I doubt it  =)

  • Parker.  Never tried one, would love to.

I also had a hankering for an Ovation Breadwinner when I was younger.

I tried my first Rickenbacker 4001 bass last month. Was pretty nice. I've only really tried the basic electric guitar types, so even slightly exotic models from the big 2 are unfamiliar to me. Probably the highest profile type I've not played is a Jaguar. I tend to not go for small scale lengths or overly heavy guitars and until the Squier revolution in the last 10  years or so, they were not all that common. I guess I tend to be a meat n' potatoes guy in guitar choices. Really, almost everything that appeals to me was designed by the early 60s at the latest.
Ten years too late and still getting it wrong

    Gosh, is this like trainspotting?

Do you have to have a notebook to write down all the types of guitar you’ve played?

Do you have to wear an anorak?

  • Gretsch Falcon and Epiphone/Gibson ES335. Mainly because I know I'll love them and I'll be very tempted to buy. And I don't really want any temptations right now.
