Got that beat. The night my eldest was born, I went to the pub. Someone came up to me and gave me that cheer up line. I was gobsmacked as I was elated but also exhausted and mildly traumatised. Anyway, he came and sat with me and had a chat for a while.

There is a thing people do with the fingers held that way. It apparently means something, a bit like a thumbs up or a high five. You see people taking selfies doing it, people making You-tube travel videos doing it, and so on. No reason they wouldn't do it in guitar videos.

As to what it means, I neither know nor care.

And yes, it is a venial sin to make that sort of gesture in a guitar video. The offender should say three rosaries every night and give up sex for a week. Saying "pinkie" instead of "little finger" is a mortal sin my son. Sorry. Say 20 rosaries morning and night and give up sex for a year. (Or coffee for a week, whichever is easier.)

Is it specifically the fingers used that causes you such consternation? Would index finger and thumb be OK? Or thumb and pinkie (I don't have an issue with pinkie as opposed to little finger - pointer finger instead of index pisses me off a bit though)?

It’s okay. I went outside and touched the grass.. it was bloody soaking and nothing happened after it. Quite disappointed but what can you do.

Came back in and by Christ could I figure out how to put the kettle on? Even skipped a step and tried to lighten up by taking my hoodie off first and nope.. the bastarding kettle wouldn’t fit over my head.

So.. I gestured at the TV with my index finger and declared that I would return to YouTube for some more gear videos. Bloody waste of an afternoon. Tomorrow I plan to start a thread about 2nd hand prices, seems to be a hot topic so I’m sure I won’t be able to piss anyone off with that
