Desert Island movies

What's Hot
You're on a desert Island. Instead of the traditional desert Island discs, you can take the complete filmography of ONE actor.

Whose films are you taking?

I'm going with Samuel L Jackson

StarWars (ok the not so good prequels)
Incredibles
Goodfellas
Lots of Marvel
Jurassic Park
Lots of Tarantino
Time to Kill

Dan Aykroyd.  I'm not sitting on a desert island without Ghostbusters and Blues Brothers.

Or if TV & games are also permitted then I'll take Patrick Stewart for a huge chunk of the best Star Trek plus a good few X-men. And a copy of Oblivion please...!

    Nicholas Cage, obviously.

Maybe I'll finally understand that one with Cher where he's obviously a werewolf but it isn't a werewolf film and nothing happens.

I wonder if you could power-game this by carefully choosing a prolific extra...

    You're damn right it is!

    My other considerations were:
    - Sean Bean - LOTR trilogy and Goldeneye - what more do you need? Actually he'd get you into Oblivion as well, plus GOT and apparently was in one ep of Morse, so could you get a boxset under the rules?
    - Christian Bale (3x Batmans, The Prestige, Ford vs Ferrari which is fun, Howl's Moving Castle, and one of the dreadful Terminator movies which is terrible, plus I'd like to think he'll keep doing interesting things in future and that this hopefully-metaphorical island will have a perpetually updating subscription, not a dvd rack.)
    - Harrison Ford - all the good Star Warses, All the good Indy movies, all the bad Indy movies, both Blade Runners and the Fugitive

Actually Ford might be my pick now I think about it. But my god I'd miss Ghostbusters.

Quick Google suggest Jesse Wayne Heiman although a lot of his extra work is TV. However, you’d get American Pie 2 and The Social Network. Ooh.

    Jack Nicholson or Woody Allen.

Superb movies and occasional turkeys for both.

  • On a desert island I'll wanna laugh at the stupidest things. So it's gotta be Will Ferrell for me.
Paul Rudd is a close second. Not as funny but he's in so many films across so many genres that I'd be spoiled for choice.

I's a good question. I'm going Jeff Goldblum. One of my fave people in film, with lots of varied stuff.

  • For the wank bank: Jennifer Connolly

For a load of good arthouse movies and probably the best overall:

    Isabel Huppert

Why actors though?  I'd more likely go directors... Tati again, Dario Argento, Stanley Kubrick, Orson Welles.

  • Let me understand this, the premise for this thread is, that you know in advance that you a going to be stuck spending the rest of your life on a desert island with no other human contact or forms of entertainment bar a telly and DVD player, and nobody has suggested or admitted that they'd bring a stash of porn with them, I call B.S. on everybody's lists.
