    I had a go on the Sting signature model P once. Sounded very nice.

    Dusty Hill was a big fan too, but with steel rounds for his grindy tone.

    I feel like turning into a bit of a Sting-alike could actually be a really nice thing now it's settling as an option but I can't see any neat way of sorting out the different routing without it looking awful, or just chucking a huge pickguard on it.  

    Otherwise maybe just lose the pickguard and chuck an oddball-split-P pickup in there. Something like the Novak P90-style or Charlie Christian split-P. Or a single Thunderbird, which I'm well convinced could be ace.
