That's a good price for a really nice guitar.  I would love to have that on my knee right now.

  • That is a beautiful guitar at a great price.

I'm sure you will be cuffed to bits with it.

    Congratulations!

Ah, so you've met my wife and yes, she's very likely to cuff me to bits with it for buying it!

Seriously, thanks...and she was very happy for me to buy it....but it now means I have to buy her something now too!

So.... I was thinking of getting her that nice PRS S2 McArthy in smoked whale blue that I posted a few days back.  It's a lot more than the LL6 but hey, I'm a very kind, thoughtful and generous husband .... I know its spoiling her but hey, I think she's worth it!

Just arrived this morning, but will unpack this evening when I'll have a little pluck and strum. Fingers crossed its all undamaged and plays and sounds good. I'll add a NAGD later with my first impressions.  ;)

Yamaha, if new or nearly new. You can't go wrong. Or, of you are lucky, and don't need on board electronics, find a vintage Ibanez Artwood or similar.

  • That's a sweet guitar. Very nice!

The matt finish is tastefully understated.

Thanks, it looks very classy and plays and sounds great. Not used to the 12 gauge strings but will try to bear with them and toughen up my fingers over the next week or two.

  • I had a Yamaha APX three quarter sized guitar and while I really like Yamaha in general I just wasn't impressed by the neck. I found it a bit narrow,or maybe the string spacing was the problem? I didnt like the neck on a Yamaha Pacifica electric I tried either. Yamaha seem great in terms of everything other than personal comfort.

My experience differs.  I have a Pacifica 611 and it's very comfortable with a very nice neck. Whilst on paper the string spacing is fractionally narrower than most guitars, it's such a small difference it makes no difference to me whatsoever.  The neck on the LL6 is again very comfortable and the LL6 is simply a lovely guitar to play and aesthetically is very nice looking too.  I also have a FG140 that has a thicker neck than the LL6 but it's still very comfortable.

Perhaps it's because I have a reasonable number of guitars that I'm just able to adapt and feel comfortable with pretty much anything.
