Following on from discussions over in /Guitar I'm looking at organising a small get-together at a studio in Hertford during October.

There are two main aims with this:

for a few people to have a pre-Quad thrash if they want to - although you don't have to be coming to Quad to join in, at all; we'll just probably be running through some of the songs that are on the list for Quad
to check out the studios and see if it might be worth approaching them for a larger jam in 2019, if there's enough interest from the board (at the moment this is all highly unofficial and speculative)

At the moment it looks like me, @markblagdon and @peteri are interested. If there are two or three more who are interested (most of the rooms seem to hold up to 6 folk) then I'll do the legwork.

Studio is in Hertford, Herts and is easily reached off the A414 or the A10.

I'll then see if we can book a room for the afternoon of the day that works out best for everyone.

Cost will just be the booking cost divided by however many people turn up (I'll book a four hour slot in an appropriate room, so anywhere between £9 and £15 a head depending on the number of heads).

If @mrkb and @peteri are fine with 13th or 14th I'm happy to start with that and check availability at the studio on that basis; looks like we'd definitely have enough people to make it viable that day, then.

I may be able to scare up a local drummer as well for free (well, I'll buy him some beer afterwards), so that Mark doesn't have to do it all (unless he wants to).

13th is my wedding anniversary, so 14th would be better for me. Am also free on 20/21 and 27/28th if needed.

You're sure the anniversary won't bleed over into a weekend thing? Wouldn't want to cause marital disharmony, but it would be good if we could hit a date that @sticker can do, as he's the only one to be date-explicit so far

OK, I've booked a room (oo-er) for:

Sunday 14th October
2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

It's Room 3 at River City in Hertford.

Room can hold 8-9 of us, so depending on who's in we can either chop and change on songs, or just spread ourselves out.

Cost is £59 divided by however many of us turn up.

I'll edit the OP with confirmed attendees as you respond here or PM me.

For now I'm assuming @mrkb and @sticker are "in" and that @TADodger @Bridgehouse @slacker @Jalapeno and @munckee are "maybes"

Please confirm/deny/nudge anyone else who might be interested
