Use their social media channels - you often get better response from companies

I use Gravity floor standing guitar racks and a couple of there single locking wall hangers.
If you need to hang multiple guitars on a wall ?

This String Swing Guitar Wall Mount Bundle with 5 Guitar Hangers & 1 Black Vein Strong Wall Mount racking system is still  the best I’ve found but not cheap to import from the USA to the UK.

I would love Gravity to sort out a similar sort of quality multiple guitar wall hanging system for the UK and Europe.
I’ve just setup the quality Gravity boom mic stand I bought before Christmas with my Harley Benton Talk Box tube for some fun tomorrow.

On the plus side, you could hang your one grand Strat on a fifteen quid Hercules hanger and when it falls off and gets all scraped and banged up it will look like a three grand Strat.

  • I was thinking of putting mine up tomorrow, but I think I might give it a miss now!

    Bye!

I was about to take the plunge and buy five hercules wall hangers. I think I'll hang onto my old faithful quiklok floor stand.
I would love to change my username, but I fully understand the T&C's (it was an old band nickname). So please feel free to call me Dave.

Painting the house, laminating the floors of two rooms, and now you want to put up guitar hangers.  Drew, you are a DIY machine.  Where do you find the time to do the fun things in life?

    Update:

Tried emailing in September, it went to the US Hercules who couldn't help.
Tried again via the UK site when the second one failed but their contact form kept coming up with errors and wouldn't send.
Posted on their Facebook page but again it's run by the US side and they couldn't help but said they'd get someone in UK to contact me. Which they didn't.

So last night I emailed Strings and Things (UK distributor) directly and this morning they have verified that there was a faulty batch that went out by mistake but that they have redesigned the product and will replace all 5 of my hangers.

Result! It took a while but at least they've been straight about the QC issue and want to make it right.

Faulty batch? Aah. Any idea what year this was?

I got them Jan 2018, from Amazon. That's as much as I can tell you! Note the different shapes:

    Mine look like this

but the newer 'plus' model looks like this

Would indeed be good to be able to identify a batch/shipment.
I still have some boxed unused ones of the earlier type that I'd be happy to see included in a recall.

That's a bit worrying; just checked, and my two most expensive guitars are hanging from the 'old' style, while the SG is on the newer 'plus' model. Have a feeling they were purchased around 2017/18.

I don't know if it's a batch code but the sticker on the back of the first one to fail - which I took down off the wall - says 'Made in China A017H'. I've left the rest of mine on the wall so not sure what their stickers say.

  • Oh wow. Yes, mine match the old design too, and I bought them in 2017. Well that settles it .... not putting them up on the wall.

    Bye!

They should *all* be safe, but clearly some from a known bad batch of the older style slipped through the QC net.
The newer 'plus' design (2nd photo in my comparison photos) is what they are sending me to replace my older versions.

  • Shiiiiit... I've got about £3k (a 335 and a PRS) hanging from two old-style ones purchased in mid-2017... GULP.

Oh, and a Tele. But I'd be more worried about the tele damaging the floor as it falls.

That's a good measure of a company, not how they react when things go well but how they react when things go bad.  Seems like Hercules did a good job in fixing the issue there!

Aye. Took a while but more than happy with the outcome. Got them fitted this afternoon and my guitars are back up on the wall. Yay!

  • Mine haven’t broken but I bought some about that time and I’ve got 5 of the faulty batch if those images are correct. I’ve got a lot of expensive stuff hung up on them, but they seem very solid at the moment

I got mine last year, and have the newer style.

I've had problems with the plaster I've drilled into though.

I use the Y-shaped garden spade hangers.  Very cheap and tough as old boots.  You could hang a JCB from them and not worry.

Always nice to see when a problem is shared... I had replaced one of twelve already a couple months ago and just noticed two further ones have gone. Got them all in late 2018.

Really interesting to see this. I've had two since about 2005, regularly used and with a rotation of guitars inc a heavy 1992 Les Paul. One of them has been up in four different homes! No sign of deterioration.

Batch numbers for the broken ones:
    2x A018D and 1x A018E.

    Replaced with A020K.

Tick tock goes the clock ...

Should be some sort of product recall from Hercules, given what could be at stake by people who trust the brand.

Are the batch numbers printed on the back? Or just on the packaging that I’ll have thrown out as soon as I installed them.
