    And he discovered it himself when he was 13. I couldn't even tie my shoe laces at 13. Is the pink eye drug related?

    He comes from a Norwegian family.  Jazz is the biggest selling music in Norway and Lydian dominant is an incredibly common scale in jazz.  So it perfectly possible this sound more natural to his ears.
