Anyone know of a UK source for stupidly small bits of wood?

LewyLewy Frets: 3795
I want to raise a saddle with an ebony shim but need to get the material....I know of US based source for custom made ebony shims but with shipping it becomes crazily expensive. Googling hasn't shown up a similar UK source so far.

Any ideas?

    No worries.
Do you have an idea of dimensions you need?
I might have something here that would suffice.

I'd say 3" long and about 1/8" high and wide....

Ok, Let me have a look and I'll see what I can find.
If it is oversized can you trim it down yourself or do you want me to make it exact?
I'm equipped to do it but oversized is usually advisable.

Definitely oversized so I can trim it down myself, I'd say.

Just use a bit of black plastic.

When anyone asks, just make up a clever name that makes it sound less like plastic.

    Maybe... "Richlite".

I don't have any ebony but I have this lovely piece of rosewood:

Dimensions are 75.3mm x 21.3mm x 11.5mm, ever so slightly under your 3" requirement but only by 0.04", so it should be ok.
You can have it for postage costs if it works for you.

Ah yeah, that'll get 'er done :)

PayPal for p&p costs work for you?

Yeah sure thing- PM me & I can get it out to you tomorrow.
I haven't done anything to it so it might not be completely square, but you have enough thickness and width to have a play with it.

Richlite is only plastic in the same way that a Strat is plastic.

I know... but you know what internet 'wisdom' says about it :).

Although I think it's arguable that the bonding material is a form of plastic. (Thermosetting, if I remember correctly.)
