I find myself in a pretty enviable position in that it's been so long since I've picked up a guitar I've reverted back to being a rank beginner (and I wasn't that much cop to begin with). So I thought it's time I rectified this, so was wondering what's good out there specifically aimed at electric guitar. Not fussed what the medium is, could be book, DVD, online course or other.

    JustinGuitar is a "course" I suppose and it's a source a lot of people use. His lessons are great and he is a very good player.

    Fretjam is another one that is a Goldmine of information.

    I'm not sure if this "Site based learning" is what you are after, but you could do a lot worse.

    There will be more out there on Yew Chooooowb etc.

    Justin is good (and free) I really liked guitar tricks beginner courses, you can aim for blues, rock, country fairly soon after doing the absolute basics.

    I'm currently following the Gibson learn and master guitar course. Not free (£47 on amazon) but worth every penny in my eyes!
