FS/FT: Rift Amps Warp Drive Special. I had Chris at Rift Amps build me this with the brief being a Dumble style low powered head. I've never actually heard a real Dumble so can't really say how it compares but will say that it sounds great. It's putting out around 12 watts at full power and switches down to 6w or 1w. It packs 2x ECC83's and a single 6L6. it's hard to put a value on it so that's why I've offered it for trade for something interesting. Although if you fancy buying it I'm happy to discuss pricing. Obviously it's a bit of an unknown quantity so you are welcome to come and have a play through it in my studio. Sale or trade value: £350-£400 SOLD

Yeah, come along; we've got a fair bit coming up over the next few months. He's not on here though.

PM sent, asking what you'd be after in trades for the Rift... though it sounds like you may be open to suggestions on this?  A camel and two goats then?

I've had quite a few enquiries regarding a straight sale for the Rift which I would be happy to do. I guess I'd put its value (for sale or trade purposes) in the £350-£400 region.

I've also had a fair few people asking what the Rift sounds like, which is fair enough. I'll try to get a quick demo recorded later once the kids are in bed and before my punishing schedule of viewing the new season of House of Cards starts.

Here's a very quick and very rough 3 track demo I did of the Rift D style amp. Tele with an Oil City quarter pounder bridge pickup > amp > Zilla 2x12 Creambacks > Audio Technica AE3000 > Logic. Volume and tone on the guitar were up full and I just altered playing dynamics. I've done nothing other than record the tracks with the levels roughly right and then bounced it down to MP3. Apologies for the really rushed/shit playing...

Notice that it has a gain and a drive, is the boost footswitchable? Also, how much gain does it get up to at full wick?

EDIT: Like you can quantify how much gain. Meh, I suppose I'm wondering if it gets into this gain territory?

Nope, it's not footswitchable. It has tons of gain, especially if you're working the 6L6, and gets into the same ballpark as your clip, although I would describe that VVT as a bit more focussed.
