Consolidating, and clearing the decks, so no trades thanks!

Jensen MOD 10/70 - 10", 70W, 8 Ohm, very good nick, been boxed up for a bit and ain't getting used, good cheap upgrade for a stock speaker, sounds bigger than a 10" to me! - £30 £25 posted SOLD

(Apols for the poor photos...it's that time of year when natural light is at a premium)

Peavey Black Widow 1502 DT - 15", 300W (not 100% sure?), 4 Ohm, and again, very good condition.  I think it came out of an old Peavey Databass bass combo.  Very heavy!  Been using this in a Twin/DualShowman with a 15" baffle, and while it sounds great with Bass/VI/Baritone, it's uber thick sounding, and definitely not so bright/sparkly, so be warned!  Sorry for the pics...I haven't got around to taking it out of the cab yet, so they're all in situ right now.  I can add more if there's interest.  £50 £45 posted Offer away! SOLD

@DarnWeight how would you describe the sound of the Mod10? Dark, bright, that sorta thing.

It's pretty balanced, I'd say, not too much either way.  Maybe a little on the darker side for a 10".  Could be why I imagine it as sounding a little closer to 12" than a 10".

I will say this though...it definitely matches up better with more Fendery-voiced amps, than Brit-voiced ones.  I had it in a 2xEL84 Trace Elliot Velocette for a while, and while it didn't sound bad, it was missing something in the highs/upper-mids for that amp.  I read a bit about Laney Cub owners getting a lot out of mileage out of these as a cheap upgrade, and the few times that I tried it with my Ampeg J20 (also 2x6V6s), it did sound good.

Ah shame, I'm looking for a 10" to pair with a 2xEL84 amp!

No probs.  It might work OK in some, but for the Velocette, the stock Celestion G10 Vintage just sounds "right" to me.

    UPDATED!

My new speaker arrived yesterday (a Jensen C15K), so I pulled the Black Widow...I say pulled, but actually, pulling wasn't quite enough.  The gasket had got stuck fast to the baffle, so I had to go around the edge with a pallet knife, as carefully as I could, to separate gasket from baffle.  The upshot...

    image

...some gasket damage.  Not fatal, and there's plenty left to make good tight contact, but enough to make it look unsightly.  For this reason, I'm dropping the price down to, well, whatever.  Don't want to lose money on this, and I'm guessing P&P costs on this heavy mother will be about £15, so bear that in mind and offer away.

Oh, and here's another pic, just to confirm the model number...
