Yeah, may as well be Mesa MK IIC+ :D

Wouldn't mind one of them either ha!

I blame Greg Anderson for this one. Also I'm now the lead guitarist in a stoner doom band which is hella fun.

Cheers,
Shaun

I have a Verellen Model V, which is his take on the Model T. Custom build, 4x6550 power stage, with an added FX loop and pentode/triode 1/2 power switch. UK mains voltage too.

I'm quite far from being convinced I'd sell it, but if you PM me we can chat about it, if you like?

Sorry to derail... am I right in thinking the Model T and the Model V are non-master volume amps which are more of a pedal platform than a high-gain beast?

Hi @Drew_fx - Um not as far as I know. There are three clear iterations of the Model T. The first gen and second gen are notionally similar, with some different controls, clean and loud as hell 1970s amps. The later model, released in the late 90s when Fender owned them, is a different beast. Normal 'Fender' clean channel and then high gain second channel. Different in all but appearance.

The Model V is Ben Verellen's take on the 70s model, so is a loud and clean amp suitable for everything from jazz to doom. And finally, as far as I know they all had a master volume, allowing the preamp to be tailored for gain/tone. Certainly, my amp has a MV.

@absolutpepper Yeah I wanted mine for a while - had it nearly 2 years now and realistically I'd probably only sell if there was a chance of a Hiwatt DR103 on the horizon. There are a few here in the UK, but probably less than 10 overall. Amazing amps with really high build quality and equally good tone.

I'd do anything to get a Verellen Skyhammer (Meatsmoke seems a bit too much for me). Did you get it brand new from the States @mpsa01? Or second hand within UK?

@Dopesick I got mine brand new from Ben, coming up two years ago. Skyhammer is an amazing amp, I love how gutsy and dry the cleans sound, and the gain tone is soooo thick. Were I buying another, I think I'd maybe buy a Loucks - based on a Hiwatt circuit I believe and, well, Russian Circles make one sound mighty fine live.
