Feline Guitar Lion Cub review in new Guitar and Bass Magazine

What's Hot

edited January 2017 in Made in the UK tFB Trader
We have a rather tasty small review in this month's Guitar and Bass Magazine for our singlecut Junior
It hits the shelves tomorrow  (4th December '15)

They rather liked it and gave it a high score!
Must confess we are pleased  to have another review out after having not sent out for a long while.

Still available to buy and we have it up for a bargain-tastic price if someone wants to take the plunge as it is ex-demo

We just need to collect it from the magazine
Here are some other pics of the beast in the meantime:

  • Nice. I have some travelling on public transport tomorrow so if GandB is in store early on I shall pick up a copy. In the meantime I shall look at those photos and sigh. :-B
I’ll handle this Violet, you take your three hour break.

    Lovely. :)

  • I just had a quick look at the review... but there seems to be a misprint... they've only given it 9/10.

... but it does say... 'Feline's attention to small details lifts the Lion Cub's playability, versatility and tone to a vey high level.'

    Congrats, Jonathan.

It really does look so nicely done and unobtrusive. Congratulations on the good reviews.

  • Good to hear when a UK builder gets some good recognition.  Had an eye on this for a while and it looks even more stunning in the new pictures.  However, I think I need something similar but with a neck pickup too for some sweet jazzy-bluesy tones.

The whole point was that it was easy to customise or swap to your own preferences.

  • I've played that guitar and it really is lovely.

The only thing stopping it getting a 10/10 is an arched top and a neck pickup.......like this one:

I desperately tried to wait over the summer for this to come back from the reviewers but I buckled and now have no money! :(

Although I might take a mental note of @AlexHunter 's suggestion.  That guitar with an ebony fretboard and some fancier inlays is the sort of Feline I will order one day...

Yes - the review took a bit longer than anticipated as Chris Vinnicombe was on Sabbatical and they also had a lot of stuff to do for the magazine.

Here are the pics of the Lion Specials that we have on the way - both Rosewood boards though...which I think may actually sound smoother.

Can't easily tell but these are arch top guitars

Saw the Cub at the meet, very nice indeed. :)

    How about this version?

    image

P.S: it might have been better with the old style knobs, with the silver bit at the top.

  • It disappeared into the ether, @GuitarMonkey, as befitting to a Ghost. :)
It might make a come back one of these days though.
