For sale here is my early 80s Roland Cube 60. This is one of the very early models that were made in the UK
with Celestion Rola Speakers.

This amp is in good condition considering it's age. There's somef damage to the tolex on the amp with a patch missing by
the control panel and general rips from use over the years. Some of the screws on the back are non original.
Also the reverb circuit isn't functioning properly (pretty common on old transistor amps),
it's a weird single spring unit that floats above the amp circuit so in honesty a reverb pedal works better.
Otherwise a fairly easy fix for a tech would be to install a proper reverb tank.

However what it amazing about this amplifier is the sound it produces. It's a very clean and rich tone,
for this reason these amplifiers are still popular for jazz guitarists.

I can recommend these, I've had a 1980 Cube 40 for decades and it's still useful.

It's complete news to me that they were ever made in the UK though, or that they ever had Celestions.

What's your source for that info? Thanks!

  • The back plate on the amp! Says built in the UK and opening it up it definitely looks like the Celestion was factory fitted. I was surprised as well to see that.

I've just put the amp on auction on ebay, there's also much more detailed photos of the condition its in too. You can see the made in the uk badge in the 8th photo.
