For sale is my gartone stageman 45 1x12 combo. Solid pine cabinet upgrade and also the bigger output transformer too. Absolutely amazing amp which is handmade and point to point handwired in the uk. £2100 new. Based in the North East but can deliver/courier at cost. Open to trades for high end amps/guitars.

Here's the description:

The Stageman is an all-round workhorse designed to meet the needs of gigging guitarists. It has enough volume and headroom to fill club sized venues unmiked, and to compete with a hard hitting drummer. It's an excellent all-rounder, well suited to all styles of blues, rock, jazz, pop, country and rock'n'roll.

The master volume is useful for recording, rehearsing and for smaller gigs. It allows you to really crank the overdrive channel for more distortion at lower volume levels. Of course, all the more subtle, clean/dirty overdrive tones are still available.

If you dig that SRV tone, a huge oversize output transformer is an optional upgrade. The tone is so fat with this mod, it sounds as though you're playing through two amps. This will get you a lot closer to that texas tone than overwound pickups, and unlike them, it won't compromise your clean sound.

Probably is ok but I'm at a company who restricts certain stuff. This is probably one of them :( I'll check it out when I get home. No reverb am I right? What's the size and weight i.e. dimensions?

Was the volume manageable with the master volume @llew ?

I can't remember if mine was master volume or not to be honest? But I gigged it loads and never had a problem controlling the volume, always sounded great to me. Only got rid of it because I'm a bit of Dr z fanboy and camf of this very forum swapped his maz 18 for it. But the Gartone does the big fat fender clean really really well.

  • Funny you should say that I got this very amp from camf, and now I'm using a maz 18. The master works really well to keep it usable in the house/smaller gigs. Then if you get the chance you can unleash it and it's incredibly loud!

I was interested too last time it was for sale. I'm after trying something blackface style but think this may be too loud for my needs. Does it do bedroom levels and sound good with the master volume? Is it quiet when on? I'm fine with pedals for dirt.

    Hi Pickerg,
I have a vibrolux for sale that does bedroom level cleans?? Almost a blackface, could be modded.
