3rd Bridge (like Kaki King) - where can I get one?

By adding a bridge at the 16th fret, you can make a guitar into a Koto-type thing, the 3rd video shows how

My splendid luthier can make me a bridge like this, but obviously that's a proper piece of work that needs paying for, I just wondered if anyone knows of anyone mass-manufacturing these, before I ask him to custom-make one

    isnt that a 2nd bridge ?
just because you don't, doesn't mean you can't

yes, but everyone seems to call it a 3rd one, apparently the nut counts as one, since you are not fretting

it is fun - made a very quick and rough bridge from an off-cut of ebony and tuned the guitar to DADF#AD and while the intonation is all over the place (mostly due to me trying it on a travel acoustic) it's close enough for noodling :)

I've tuned the low D up to E so I now have EADF#AD and I'm liking it even more - I might have to make one with a pickup in so I can mess around a bit more :)

that's the catch, you'd need a pickup under the nut too I think. Or tape a magnetic pickup on to the fretboard

Nice trick worth playing with I think, glad you're having fun

I've got some piezo pickups, so I could build one into a slightly bigger bridge and plug it into the guitar's preamp - should cover both sides in one go that way.

it looks like more than you'd really need to me, but it might be ok - the bridge I made is tiny compared to that ;)

I'll see if I can find some batteries for my camera and take a picture.
