Yes I had a guitar maker friend make me a special guitar (I built him an electric as a swap)

image

I chose an inlay design that I liked (I seem to be liking art deco designs at present)
I also did the fretting as I am a bit of a snob over fretwork and Chris was happy to let me loose on this
We kept the rosette simple and elegant to tie in with the inlays.
The ebony board has a distinctive pale stripe running down it which I love, and the edge of the board has a maple trim line and ebony binding

image

The back and sides were some wonderful indian plantation grown rosewood.
Some pretty wood purfling and a mahogany binding all looks very classy under lacquer

Many guitars have a re-sale value. Some you'll never want to sell.
Stockist of: Earvana & Graphtech nuts, Faber Tonepros & Gotoh hardware, Fatcat bridges. Highwood Saddles.

Pickups from BKP, Oil City & Monty's pickups.

Wow! Very nice. We don't get to see many custom acoustic builds on here.

What is the soundboard made of? How long was the build time? What size is it?

I've never heard of Carillion before. Will have to check them out.

My next steel string will be a custom build of some sort.

    Enjoy!

I can't help about the shape I'm in, I can't sing I ain't pretty and my legs are thin

But don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to

Lovely. I bet it will sound even better once it opens up a bit.

Like the laminated neck too. Looks like a 5 piece, mahogany and ebony? Quite Lowdenesque.

Is it a veneer on the back of the headstock too?

Yes - honduran mahogany and ebony neck
Think the burl on the back of the headstock is amboyne or red gum burl
Headstock is laminated ebony, maple, mahogany/ebony, maple and burl on the back
