Friedman smallbox 50 head recently taken in px against my Steve Stevens, i have the jerry brown eye and not in a covers band anymore so dont need two amps mint and boxed 1700 collection from aylesbury or courier

    yes of course they are that's why i spent a lot more on a Friedman rather than a marshall

    I meant from a tonal perspective a la Matchless and Vox. Obviously there's a lot more to it. Are they based on any specific model or do they take the Marshall blueprint and run with it.

    Not really .... It's based on a plexi so it doesn't really sound or feel like either a JTM or a JCM.
    If you want JTM you need the dirty shirley and for JCM the BE100.

    Channel 2 is the brown eye channel just doesn't have the boost/sat switch you get on the be100

    It still doesn't sound like a JCM or the BE100 - the voicing of the smallbox is different from the BE100 - less bottom end,more pronounced midrange,smoother treble and more compressed. It's a high gain plexi . The BE100 has a voicing much more similar to a JCM than the smallbox is .

    Thanks for the wisdom guys. That might be an option @Evildurka as from the sound clips and demos the Small Box sounds more like what I'm after than the Dirty Shirley. Essentially the Hendrix/Frusciante clean thing. Wonder if @thisisguitar could chime in re: the BE-100.
