DIY L-Pad Attenuator

I want to make a small Attenuator for my fender pro jnr and had seen a couple of schematics for an l-pad Attenuator. I propose to use a Monacor at-52h 8 ohm 50watt and add a capacitor to avoid loosing some of the treble as I attenuate. Any thoughts/tips?
