So eventually the strange deal worked out and this tacoma arrived today.     It needs a good clean!  Tempted to sand the top back.  The action is too high so that needs fettling and I'd like to fit a pickup which will be tricky given the funky sound hole.
The good points are that even with the old strings fitted it sounds good - plenty loud and full and the neck is very comfy - more like an electric.

Tacoma Chief? Sounds like something @Drew_fx should be playing.

That's an unusual looking bolt on system. Just 2 bolts at the front of the block, never seen that before.

These pickups are great.... if you can get your hand in the hole.

I would love to try one, and you can get them for a great price, leave the top tho, it tells a story:)

For a made n the US, with all solid woods acoustic I'd say they go very cheap.

I might have already started work on it - taken some shims out from the saddle but it still needs to be lower and last night I stripped most of the top.

I was in the mood for sanding.

It is different - they are glued as well, so I guess the idea is that the bolts help reinforce the joint and allow less wood - it has almost no heel.

Thanks - I was looking at the kk pickup options - going to need some tiny hands to get in the gap though.
