Very good condition, with covers & original footswitch, it looks new

Do not be fooled, this is not a metal amp, (which some assume because chappers did a video trying to play metal on it).
The cleans are amazingly clear, like country, then it does 70s/80s rock tones really well - not just plain OD, I think there's a little more grit. This is like a big brother to the DC30 really - the EL34 take on Class A rather than the EL84 version

lots of photos at
This is a proper UK model, BEWARE - the USA versions cannot be rewired for 240v, since the transformer has a tap for the switching circuit separately

This amp sounds amazing, but rarely gets played
Very nice clean sounds, like a Chieftain, then 70s and 80s rock too
This model does not have reverb or an FX loop

it worth knowing that the master volume on this and the DC30 actually work well, and the amp sounds great when run much quieter, this is very rare for a guitar amp without power scaling

UK new price is £2750 I think, then £900 for the cab so it's a huge saving. This amp will last forever, it's way better built than early 60s amps I've seen running well

Matchless say:

The Independence 35 is the first 35 watt 3 channel guitar amplifier in Matchless’ history! In addition to the signature backlit nameplate, the three channels light up red, white, and blue. Channel one (blue) is powered by one 12AX7 with a volume and tone control. Channel two (white) is powered by one 12AX7 and will provide ample chunk and high-gain lead. Channel three (red) is all about fire. The master volume control is by-passable and features a cut control to thicken up and shave the highs.

The power section of the Independence starts with a 5AR4 rectifier tube and the 35 watt output is powered by two EL34s, which are cathode self biasing. A 3 position rotary switch allows for 4, 8, & 16 ohm output. The channels are switched through one footswitch (With 2 switches on it)

I would swap this for something(s) guitar shaped. Or even amp shaped

High end stuff please, no metal amps needed.

I've been thinking about moving on my Two Rock Studio Pro Plus 35 combo fitted with celestion gold. If I sell it this will definitely be on my list

that kind of amp would be on my radar, please give me spec and estimated value

I thought they used standard speakers rather than classy golds???

It's a 35 watt combo with extra foot switchable tremolo and adjustable EQ bypass which basically turns it into a 2 channel amp.
I've not even had it a year but just finding I'm more into the Class A type thing after recently selling my C-30 too.
They came stock with a Celestion Creamback which I can fit back in it but the gold destroys it, I'm a massive fan of the golds.
Second hand price without the gold I think would be around £2000 so with the gold a bit more I guess.
