Now sorted. thanks all!! I've got some serious GAS for a Sky King at the moment but I appreciate it's a bloody long shot for someone to be selling one, but if you don't ask...

While I take my time in the hunt a Sky King, I'd also consider the Falcon as I assume there's a few more of those about.

Hit me up!

Mate, two very different amps there though... And ive owned both of them.

The Falcon is one of the most fun amps ive ever owned. Speak to Doug at Coda, and he'll sort you out a great deal on them.

A Sky King was for sale here about 2 months ago. In fact my cousin's son bought it and he loves it

  • Thanks for the posts gents - they do both look like great amps - not sure even I can justify owning both of them though :-)

Can't believe I missed the previous Sky King sale as I've been trying *not* to buy one for about 6 months but I've finally decided to scratch the itch. Argh!

Well I'll let you know if he ever sells. Not sure he will yet as he simply loves it. Got a good price for it I think too. Hope that doesn't make it worse for you :(

    Here it was:-

    Andy,

This is similar in someway to the 'which would you choose' thread in the amp section; it's all about your definition of what your after.

The Falcon will only offer limited but effective (bedroom - low volume) cleans. The Sky King is a very very versatile amp, with lovely cleans, OD and trem.

Thanks for the thoughts - I'm beginning to lean in the Sky King direction - thinking about it a bit more, while I was tempted by the simplicity of the Falcon I do like reverb on the amp and I don't tend to use pedals so much...

I couldn't do without reverb and preferably an on board one and valve driven. Sky King is for you by the sound of it. Lovely and versatile amp :)
