For sale - Fender Prosonic combo.

Excellent condition.  Recently replaced footswitch, which functions perfectly.

An all-tube design, the Prosonic uses five standard 12AX7A tubes in the preamp sections, phase invertor and effects loop, and one 12AT7 for the srping reverb. Output tubes are 5881/6L6WGCs. The rectifier tube is a 5AR4 (GZ34).

The Prosonic's rear-mounted RECTIFIER/BIAS switch lets the user select from the following three options:

  1. Solid-state rectification with fixed bias (marked "S.S. AB2"). Listed at 60 Watts R.M.S.
  2. Tube rectification with fixed bias (marked "AB2"). Listed at 50 Watts R.M.S.
  3. Tube rectification with cathode bias (marked "A"). Listed at 30 Watts R.M.S.

Production dates from 2001, so all original run mods were applied at factory.  This means; no pop on channel switch, no excessive reverb noise, and several tonal improvements.

Full description and history on this amazing amplifier can be found here - http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fender_Prosonic

Reluctantly selling because I need something smaller.

£500 - ono.  Collection from Harpenden, Hertfordshire preferred.

I loved my one but it nearly deafened me  - my god it was loud and very potent for 45/50w

Amazing sound - possiblty one of the best clean sounds Ive ever heard and great lush reverb too.

Gain channel has more gain on tap than you'd ever need but controllable like a Boogie.

Many guitars have a re-sale value. Some you'll never want to sell.
Stockist of: Earvana & Graphtech nuts, Faber Tonepros & Gotoh hardware, Fatcat bridges. Highwood Saddles.

Pickups from BKP, Oil City & Monty's pickups.

I had one of these in 'Lizard Green' back in the 90's.......I ran it in class A 30 watt mode and it sounded fantastic.  Really squashy springy dynamic cleans and (as has been said) and fookin loud.  Have a bump.
    No Darling....I've had that ages.

Wonder how this sounds compared to my Supersonic 22.

  • Have a Supersonic, Had one of these, Imagine a boutique version of a supersonic thats ALOT louder, Maybe not as flexible on the clean channel but tonally better in every way. Just more refined, If I were not in the world of heads and cabs I would have taken this on the first day advertised, In fact I tried to :)

    God knows why

I've considered selling my supersonic to raise the funds to buy this as @lexie1 thinks it would be the perfect amp for me

    Only just seen this thread.
I am *almost* positive that this is one of my old Prosonic's, based on the serial.
At the time I had 3 of them- two combo's and a head.

If it is my old one then it has had all the service work done to it by one of them best amp techs in the US, including fixing the channel popping, reverb noise and the clean was slightly reworked to be more like a '59 Bassman.
Killer amp- I only got rid of it because I wanted to downsize the rig.
