Every 2nd thread this week has been about small combo's and which one. I have religiously pointed people to this amp, which, IMO is the finest 7w amp ever made. It's a steal at this price and I can only assume @thorpy6 must have ebola and people are worried about catching it off the amp.

FFS- this is the BEST 7w Combo made- buy it if you are looking for a small powerful lush giggable combo.

That roundabout offends me. Just to let you know I'm still interested. If my cab and/or guitar sell on here I'll have the funds to actually buy it (along with other things... mwuaha).

hmm, very tempting......

does this thing produce JTM tones? (the phrase 'Plexi' always confuses me). Plexi to me means Marshall SL rather than Super Bass or JTM.

@frankyknuckles it has the ability to cover the gamut of tones from JTM through to hot rodded plexi too. its a very versatile little amp.

yeah, I have watched a few youtube vids (some good, some bad). I'm really interested, but would need to sell my Tone King Falcon before I could buy the P7.

Does it take an OD pedal very well? (lol, one of your Klone pedals for example?!)

in all honesty no, it doesn't. It's a very specific tone.. Definetly not clean and consequently quite compressed, it just doesn't need an OD pedal, roll back your volume and it cleans up roll it up and it's lovely and dirty.

They take dirt pedals absolutely fine imo (much better than bright Fender circuits imo). Sure if you crank it with HBs, you can just use your volume knob. However, if you wish to use od/distortion/fuzz it sounds awesome. SCs will give you more headroom and space to go with dirt. Volume knob rolled back with a pedal also sounds great.

Yeah i should have elaborated.... the headroom increases as the power scaling increases. On the 7 Watt setting the amp has much more clean headroom and can take pedals nicely. as the power is scaled back its clean headroom drops and the acceptance of pedals lessens.

The trick is to match the volume knob to the power scaling position. I reduce the volume whenever i go to a lower power setting, as i think it sounds better. The amp sounds best however on the full 7 watts.
