The dream theater one, also steve vai uses it a lot, is a great way of getting The E Lydian sound in your mind.

x9897x the open C7 shape moved up. you can easily induce vibrato and its great with arpegios.

2x4322 thumb low f# very hendrix.
24xxxx for a jailbreak f# also works in maidens flight of icarus
9-9-11-11-x-x for the heaviest f#(no 3rd) works well chromatically descending
