    All my acoustics are USA-built Pro ones except my Blueridge tenor, it is comparable to £1k USA-built stuff I think, so I'd recommend them

    i havent splurged YET! actually still knee deep in plaster and brick work at my house at the mo so not wanting to bring an instrument into that!

    that's a pretty different choice. I'd first ask how much do you have to spend? And where are you  based?

    actually, I do have an Alan Arnold Baritone, which is lovely, I was thinking of standard size guitars

    I just buy on quality and residual value usually, I'm afraid the Americans invented most guitar stuff, and they are rather good at it

    oh there's some pretty good British ones too 

    Residual value means little, if not "nothing" to me - at my age :D
